An unidentified lady had been slicing an artichoke when the vegetable mysteriously exploded. Luckily she wasn’t injured, but she noticed the leaves on the vegetable were completely burnt. It's hard to imagine chopping vegetables in the safety of our kitchen can pose dangers beyond cuts. However for a woman in northern Italy, the task presented a rather unexpected threat. The unidentified lady had been slicing an artichoke when the vegetable mysteriously exploded. Luckily she wasn’t injured, but she noticed the leaves on the vegetable were completely burnt.Directly following the explosion, she ran to find her husband and daughter who immediately dialed the local police department along with the supermarket responsible for housing and selling the artichoke.Law enforcement authorities arrived at the home and quickly decided to open up an investigation into the troubling case. Meanwhile, the grocery store has since removed the artichokes from the shelves until the cause of the blast is determined .As of right now, it’s believed the explosion has something to do with the fertilizer used on the vegetable and a subsequent chemical reaction. Surprisingly this case isn’t the first of its kind. Prior to this incident, the most recent report of an artichoke exploding surfaced in 2008.
