The row in U.S.-Indian relations over Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade's arrest in New York continues -- Khobragade was arrested and strip-searched on December 12 on charges of underpaying her housekeeper. Now, the housekeeper's lawyer is speaking out, and says the media is missing the heart of the story. (SOUNDBITE) (English) DANA SUSSMAN, STAFF ATTORNEY FOR THE SAFE HORIZON ANTI TRAFFICKING PROGRAM AND PERSONAL ATTORNEY FOR HOUSEKEEPER SANGEETA RICHARD, SAYING: "She is overwhelmed by the attention that the case has gotten and she is frustrated and disappointed at the focus of the media on treatment of Dr. Khobragade. And that the victim and the victim's story has been overshadowed by sort of the outrage regarding the treatment of Dr. Khobragade. But she has remained strong and remains a cooperative witness in the investigation." The diplomat's strip-search, despite her "incessant assertions of immunity," caused a furor in India. (NAT SOUND)
