In 2001, African governments agreed to allocate 15% of their budgets to healthcare. To date, only six countries: Botswana, Burkina Faso, Malawi, Niger, Rwanda and Zambia have met this commitment. Most of the other African countries still highly depend on foreign financial aid from donors to fund projects specifically related to elimination of HIV Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
