A Group has tried to raise awareness of conditions for migrant workers - including those help construct the venues for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.The Global Network for Rights and Development (GNRD) is trying to raise awareness about forced labour with Nepalese migrant workers. The Guardian newspaper recently brought to light the frequent deaths of Nepalese migrants working on constructions sites in Qatar for the World Cup in 2022.Deputy Chief of the Mission to the Embassy of Nepal in Brussels, Kumar Raj Kharel, believes air conditioning inside sleeping quarters may be to blame. Kharel says there are approximately 300,000 Nepalese migrant workers inside Qatar.However, Minister of the European Parliament, Paul Murphy from Ireland believes the government of Qatar and FIFA should be shamed for the deaths of construction workers, The GNRD wants to encourage trade unions, non-governmental organisations, policy makers and member of the public to contribute to end forced labour and human rights violations.
