The latest migrants to be rescued off the Italian coast arrive on the island of Sicily to await their fate. The group of 235 survivors were plucked from the Mediterranean on Saturday when their vessel capsized. At least 34 people are known to have drowned but with many still unaccounted for, the true total could be around 200 or more. The arrival of the survivors on Sicily coincided with that of the casualties of another ship sinking the previous week. More than 350 migrants perished in that incident. The first 150 coffins arrived on Sunday. The rest will follow in two shipments for a state funeral. The coffins were carried into a building at the Agrigento cemetery in silence by theology students who volunteered for the task. Italy is stepping up air and sea patrols to try to stop the number of wrecks of boats carrying migrants. Arrivals of migrants in Sicily from North Africa have swelled steadily over the past two decades. T
