Following a naming ceremony here last week, I am just now concluding my stay in Amsterdam, where the bar was raised for maritime records: In Photos: 10 Ships Christened In Amsterdam, A World’s Record.

One of the challenges that some have with this country is what to properly call it. It’s not Holland. There is no country named Holland, which is explained in a fun way in the accompanying video. The country is the Netherlands, although even the Dutch national tourist board uses Holland in its marketing, probably because that is what most people search for. Are there Holland cruises? And what about Holland America Line? Should it be changed to The Netherlands America Line?

Well, as you’ll see, it’s complicated. Check out this fun video for more information.
