What's Grammy Week without the Essence Black Women in Music Gala, this years star studded Gala was to honor nominee Kelly Rowland and Legendary Executive Sylvia Rhone. ESSENCE saluted 2012 GRAMMY®-nominated artist and rising icon Kelly Rowland along with music industry veteran Sylvia Rhone at the 3rd annual ESSENCE Black Women in Music event. The invitation-only, red-carpet event brought out Hollywood's elite to celebrate the accomplishments of the most influential movers and shakers in the music industry during 2012 GRAMMY® Week. The evening featured an exclusive performance by Rowland, performing hit songs including "Dilemma," "When Love Takes Over," "Motivation," and her final song "Like This" which featured a special guest performance from GRAMMY® Award-winner Eve. The legendary MC Lyte -- the first female solo rapper to ever be nominated for a GRAMMY® -- kept the music going throughout the night.
