The first edition of jhr's hour-long special show, the Rights Check-Up, went from Montreal to Vancouver to find out which human rights stories were making headlines across Canada.

From an upcoming conference on the UN Responsibility to Protect (R2P) doctrine in Montreal, to protests and calls for former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney to be indicted for war crimes, the Rights Check-up is there to find out the state of the nation's human rights.

Also, this edition of the jhr Rights Check-Up addressed the role social media can play in preventing mass atrocities and genocide.
