This is the first in a new series that I have been working on for awhile now. I've spent years analyzing photos from the Apollo missions, but I have also taken the same analytical approach towards various science fiction movies involving space. I can suspend my level of disbelief when watching sci-fi movies. But when the scientific inaccuracies become overwhelming, the scene (if not the entire movie) ultimately suffers. In this new series we will have a look at some of these scientifically inaccurate scenes from sci-fi movies and explain why they are wrong. We'll be starting with the space shuttle hijacking scene from the 1979 James Bond movie, Moonraker.
