Dr. Quintard Taylor started in 2007 as a free resource on African–American history. There are speeches, timelines, commentaries, and primary source documents. The online encyclopedia provides more than 3,000 entries about events in African–American and global African history. There were more than 2 million visits in 2010. How has this internet portal affected historical research? What new discoveries have been made? What surprising stories have emerged? The site has won awards across the country and is accessed by historians around the world. Dr. Taylor has said the site is the biggest thing he has done in regards to reach and impact.
