(having climbed up 15 feet or so from the ground). We just need some barley, yeast and Burtonised water to set up our own brewery. Although if you've heard PC Podcast this week you'll appreciate that it isn't quite that easy.

Million Years Ago - Kathy Fleischmann (Queens, NY)
The Kathy Fleischmann Band is comprised of four seasoned singer/songwriter/musicians from NY. Their music is a mix of blues, rock, jazz and folk.
The Kathy Fleischmann Band is currently performing in Long Island/Queens the NY area at venues including The National Underground, The Underscore and The Alphabet Lounge. They have just released, The Second Took Even Longer, their first full length CD with 10 original songs

Pete Cogle again exceeded all reasonable expectations this week by discovering an astoundingly fine track Washboard Lemon by Geoffrey Lemon which you'll hear at the very start of PCP 275. I must admit that I didn't hear it as trad jazz. It seemed more like a reworking of something like 1930s dance music. Whatever it is I found it worryingly compelling. Worldconkest - Jeffrey Lemon (Vannes, France)
Jeffrey Lemon does not fall anywhere: from hip hop, dub, drum and bass, the electronica and jazz, he experimented with various sound worlds and machines are a ticket of invitation to the doors of perception.
Often accompanied on stage by MC Nasty, posing texts with a flow of fluid disconcerting, and his drummer Crazy Drummer from the jazz, the electronic and the acoustic blend perfectly to give birth to a new genre: music "Electro-lemon"

Octavio - Viva Voce (Portland, Oregon)
From their album RoseCity on the Amore!Phonics label which was released on CD just a couple of weeks ago. Kevin also lets us know that " To much questioning and asking I give this answer - yes, vinyl is on the way! September will find the 180 gram vinyl release of Rose City on the Jealous Butcher record label.âWe worked with Jealous Butcher on the release of the Blue Giant EP last year and we were thrilled we got to work with them again on this release.âAs par for course, the vinyl release will include 2 additional cuts not on the CD or digi. Wax only my friends!âI won't spoil the surprise, but the tunes turned out quite amazing and we"re happy they'll have a home on Jealous Butcher."

Good things die - Nordgarden (Hammer / Oslo, Norway)
An old track from the first album which brings a great combination of guitar and trumpet. Terje is on the west coasts of Canada and USA for a couple of weeks. Watch out for him popping up with surprise gigs at various club nights.

Pride - Paula Toledo (Vancouver, BC, Canada)
There seems to be a really strong seam of Canadian women producing beautiful songs at the moment. I think Paula Toledo is among the best. Melancholy shadowing optimism. Jangly guitars to atmospheric sounds. Paula co-produced this album with Jonathan Anderson, additional prod. & mixing by David Odlum (Josh Ritter, The Frames) at Black Box Studios in France.
I first played Paula on SnC 003 back in Feb 2006. She's been a bit quiet since 2007. Too rare and precious a talent to be allowed to fade away.
