We were sitting around Jake's office at Vimeo, and I asked Ricky how J's abysmal lack of style first began ... Apparently I missed the worst of it. Whew times 10.
At one point, not on camera, I told J that his shirt (seen in the video) "made me want to

vomit." It was perhaps a bit too harsh, but he's shown remarkable ability to improve lately, and this was no exception. He agreed that it wasn't the most flattering cotton based product he could wear, and he seemed eager to go beyond. But how?
I guess it seems that the Edu-ma-cation of Mr. Lodwick's style falls to me, and the bevy of style experts I have at my disposal (one of the perks of my job). So we're going to film it! "Jake Learns How to Dress Himself" will be a multi-part series, as we follow J from a raggedy hipster-esque boy wearing (in his own words) "rat clothes" to a, um ... stylish, confidant, rico-suave business man. (okay, maybe not the "rico-suave" part. but the rest) GQ, watch out.
PS. NONE of this, except the teeshirt critique, came from me. I didn't suggest he dress differently, I just nodded in agreement when he said he wanted to ... if he decided to continue to dress the way he does now, I wouldn't put up a fight (not worth it). That said, if I never saw the teeshirt he's wearing now again, I would do a small dance of glee.
