ambience to the scene. Some shots are too long I know, but I just couldn't bring myself to cut them. No colour correction has been used and all shots are taken with the support of my trusty monopod.
There are a few where you can see the pattern of the focusing glass. That was purely user error; I accidentally bumped the aperture ring down to about f8 and didn't notice until halfway through shooting.
I have yet to perfect the art of exporting video from FCP. I still get a washed out colour (the original looks 10 times better) and strange colour grading where the edges go dark. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! I import in at HDV50i (PAL) and export as a quicktime .mov file using Compressor at these settings (the screengrabs): hv20.com/showthread.php?t=8085
What am I doing wrong? My first video: vimeo.com/2186843 looks perfect. I have no idea how that one can turn out so well, and every video since suffers from washed out colour when exporting.
