Mefeedia usability center: we need you!

Hi, this is Peter. I need your help! To make Mefeedia better and better, I do something that's called usability testing.

It works like this: you sign up here, at some point I send you an email to ask you if I can call you to show you something new. I give you a call, show you some new feature we have, and ask you what you think. That's it. This really helps me to keep my two feet firmly planted in reality and make stuff that is actually useful.

Strangely, most people find this is fun to do, and you get to help define where Mefeedia is going. You also get to see new Mefeedia features before anyone else does :)

What is usability?

Usability means trying to make things easy to use.

It's actually very hard to make stuff easy. That's why most websites suck. I wrote a whole chapter in a book about it, and I still learn something every day.

The easiest way to make something easy is to observe how Real People (as opposed to programmers) use it.

When you are developing some new code, you become so familiar with everything that you just don't see the problems anymore. Showing it to someone who has never seen it can be a real eye opener.
