On Wednesday, July 16th at 12:21am CDT a Zenit-3SL rocket launched via the ocean based Odyssey launch platform. The Zenit-3SL rocket carried EchoStar XI into space while the Block DM-SL upper stage inserted it into geosynchronous transfer orbit. The final location for EchoStar XI will be 110 degrees West Longitude. EchoStar XI will be used for DISH Networks to allow for more HD programming and additional redundancy to their current network operations.

Despite the official allocation being far less, around 30,000 Rangers fans managed to find their way inside the City of Manchester Stadium with around 100,000 more in fan zones around the city and a packed-out beamback party taking place back at Ibrox. But the night ended in disappointment for the Glasgow giants, just as it had done for city rivals Celtic at this stage back in 2003, when they lost to Jose Mourinho's Porto in the final. Violence occurred after the game as hundreds of Rangers fans -- described by police as a pack of baying wolves -- went on the rampage. They have good reason, both the police and the authorities, to be very angry about what happened. Brown has been a key supporter of the Football Association's bid to bring the World Cup back to England for the first time since 1966. FIFA will select the 2018 host country in 2011. I want to do everything to avoid us being put in a position where we might be at risk of an application for the 2018 World Cup not being acceptable because of this, Brown said. We've got to make sure we deal with problems and deal with them whenever they happen so we are looking at this as a matter of urgency. The alcohol-fueled violence is seen as endemic of the binge drinking culture in Britain, an issue high on the domestic political agenda. We do have laws that enable us to control drinking in public places where there is a risk of disorder, Brown said. We will have to look at these laws for the future. The Manchester City Council defended its decision to relax its rules to allow fans to drink alcohol in the street. Bars served alcohol starting at 10 a.m., and local shops selling alcohol opened at 7 a.m -- 18 hours before the start of the game. Do you really think we were going to stop 100,000-plus Glaswegians wanting to have a drink? city council leader Richard Leese asked. It was not possible. Trying to enforce that would have created a public order problem. Police said they were sickened by the fan violence. A minority of thugs have overshadowed what should have been a great occasion, Manchester Police's assistant chief constable Justine Curran said Thursday. I've watched them commit damage, assault my officers and I'm really sickened and disappointed. Closed-circuit video footage released by police Thursday showed mobs of fans surging toward riot police, who were forced to retreat. The footage shows one policeman, who was separated from the other officers, being tripped to the ground and then attacked by about 20 people. Police said the officer suffered a broken arm. Trouble flared when one of the giant television screens set up in the city center to show the game went blank 15 minutes before kickoff. Leese promised a full inquiry into the chaos that left city workers having to pick their way through broken glass, litter and debris to get to work Thursday, despite cleaning crews working through the night. Whether it was the big screen going down or a problem with alcohol the behavior of this small minority of yobs was not acceptable, he said. If you are going to put the blame on anyone then it has to be on these people. The city council has now banned any outdoor screenings of next Wednesday's Champions League final between Manchester United and Chelsea in Moscow.
