There are many ways to go about getting close with property managers to win bids but there is nothing like hearing the inside scoop straight from a property manager himself. That is what we were lucky enough to hear in this discussion. A lawn care business owner had asked on the Gopher Lawn Care Business Forum this, my question is how to get commercial properties? Everyone tells me I have to go to them, they wont come to me. Before we get into this I would like to tell you about my business. I started my lawn care business four or five years ago with about four accounts my first season and second season I got up to about ten. Thats all I had for the next two seasons. So for this season I advertised with signs and that got me up to about twenty five accounts give or take. I now moved up from a 21 in push mower to a 36 in commercial walk behind. What my question is, is that I would like to expand into commercial businesses in my area because all Ive been doing is residential yards. The astonishing thing about the “little placards” displayed by Father Sogol, the Professor of Mountaineering in Daumal’s novel, is how similar they are to the immense card index maintained by Dobson, upon which he relied when writing his out of print pamphlets. Dobson would have approved, too, the Professor’s method of displaying the cards – at least, sometimes. One of the pamphleteer’s more irritating characteristics was his inability to settle on the keeping of his cards. At times, like Sogol, he pinned them up on every available surface. Then a frenzy would take him and he would tear them all down and shove them into one of his innumerable cardboard boxes. Marigold Chew reports that Dobson spent hours upon hours arranging the cards when they were in their boxes, ordering and reordering them according to various abstruse cataloguing systems. No sooner was he done than he would once again tip them out of their boxes and pin them up on walls and screens and pinboards and what have you. My last year of doing a Halloween yard haunt. I've been doing these since I was a little girl. Each year, it has become more and more elaborate. I have never been able to truly enjoy Halloween night and go out because I am always working so hard on the displays. This year I am retiring my annual yard haunts, but I plan to put together some killer Halloween parties in the years to come! Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween.
