GAME 91: More reporting you won't see on the mainstream media, somewhat mundane but to a true baseball fan, you may appreciate the art of doing a scorecard while watching the game. Each player is assigned a number, pitcher is 1, catcher 2, lst base is 3, 2nd is 4, 3rd base is 5 and shortshop is 6 while the outfield left to right is 7,8,9. It is almost like "Who is on first?" So a play to the shortshop throws to first is a 6-3 out. Try keeping score, it adds to the whole game experience, Cubs lost today with the Reds hitting seven home runs, I threw out my scorecard. This video contains two brand new Cub songs "I Bleed Cubby Blue" and "I'm a Chicago Cubs Fan" from the "I Bleed Cubby Blue" CD There are 16 Cub songs on this CD - and even though they have only been on Itunes for less than a month at the time of this writing - they have been moving up in popularity every day - just search "Cubs" on Itunes and it won't take long for you to start seeing them. This CD is a compilation of the two Itunes albums "I'm a Chicago Cubs Fan" and "Waveland Ave" John Williams of WGN radio has been a fantastic supporter of Kevin and his Cub songs - you may have heard them played on his show over the last few years and even listened as Kevin was on-air with John putting a song together "2007 - Winning is More Than Not Losing" which is also doing well on Itunes along with "100 Years" and "It's Gonna Happen" and don't forget about "Ron and Pat"! This is not the best "Video" but I hope you'll find the music to be great! (especially if you're a Cub fan) There will be more coming (hopefully with more interesting video) AND a Cubby Christmas CD "Christmastime in Wrigleyville" is on the way - look for sample video's of that - in fact, maybe I'll try to get that going right after I post this one! There are many moments in baseball that can be considered "firsts". It can be a player's first at bat, home run, save, no-hitter .. or for a fan it can be attending a major league game for the first time. When it comes to historical moments in the timeline of the game, there are first events related to stadiums as well. Recently there have been a slew of new ballparks opening so there have been historic first games played on the new fields. This baseballism is about a "First" at an old ballpark, Wrigely Field home of the Chicago Cubs since 1916, which all Cubs fans will remember had it's very first game under the lights on the memorable date of August 8, 1988 or 8/8/88. Or did it? Thanks Joe for sharing this with us!
