Little did I know back then that wetlands are some of the most biodiverse ecosystems on earth, and worthy of our preservation and amazement. Montana's Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge is a great example of a wetlands that is managed for the benefit of people and wildlife, with a special emphasis on migratory birds and endangered and threatened species.
