from BassFeed September 18, 2007
The final event of the 2007 WBT schedule is the first event of the year for professional angler Sammie Jo Denyes. She'll fish the Red River tournament out of a Nitro bass boat that has a patriotic wrap that seems like a shoe-in for the Coolest Rig Running award. The story of the wrap, Sammie Jo's decision to sit out most of the 2007 season, and her plans for the 2008 WBT are worth a listen. Then we catch up with Keith Phillips from the Bassmaster Elite series. The Elite season may be over, but Keith is busier than ever preparing to fish for the U.S. in the Eurobass Tournament coming up in Spain. When he gets back from Europe, he'll have just enough time to gear up for the Bassmaster Wild Card Qualifier on lake Okochobee, where he'll need to turn in a top-10 finish to get his Elite tour card for the 2008 season. But even with this busy schedule, Keith is here to fill us in on all of that and share some tips on swimming a jig to capitalize on the coming fall bite.

BF023: Big Bass and FLW Angler of the Year
from BassFeed July 31, 2007
Bill Siemantel didn't write the book on bass fishing â he re-wrote it. Siemantel, along with co-author Michael Jones penned what many consider to be the definitive work on big bass fishing, titled Big Bass Zone: Catch Monster Bass. And now Bill has just released a DVD that goes one step beyond the book. In Bill Siemental Signature Series Swimbait Techniques, Bill demonstrates many of the key techniques that he was only able to tell you about in the book. So forget what you think you know about bass fishing and listen to what Bill has to say about big swimbaits, defying conventional wisdom, the pure fun of fishing. Then Jay Yelas, recently crowned 2007 FLW Tour Angler of the Year, checks in from Lake Ouachita, where he is practicing for the FLW Championship. Jay talks about the competition, consistency, and strategy that earned him another AOY title. He also looks ahead to some tough fishing in pursuit of this year's championship.
