Een voorstelling van: The Q-Club de bands Raskolnikov (Rotterdam) en The Q-Club (Hoorn). Ondersteund door visuals van Favola Film vertelde UNSOUND0007 over de ideeën achter deze organisatie en het manifest UNSOUND001, in de stijl van twintigste eeuwse kunstenaarscollectieven als de Surrealisten en de Kubisten. Tegelijkertijd verschenen bij UNSOUND albums van beide bands. "Een perfect uiterlijk is belangrijker dan een gezond innerlijk. Is men geen kosmopoliet en reist men niet met mobiele telefoon en laptop de wereld rond dan telt men niet mee. Tijd voor intieme relaties heeft men niet omdat de moderne mens volledig wordt opgeslokt door zijn werk. Men belt elkaar tussen conferenties door en verklaart elkaar de liefde met sms-berichtjes." In UNSOUND0010 schetst The Q-Club samen met het visuele team Job, Joris en Marieke een beeld van een ontspoorde en op drift geraakte wereld. Een eigen kijk (conform het manifest UNSOUND0001 wat volledige subjectiviteit van haar leden voorschrijft) vol obsessies, fascinaties, observaties en nachtmerries. In die zin is UNSOUND0010 niet zozeer een maatschappijkritische maar eerder een persoonlijke voorstelling. In Triptych (triptiek of drieluik) jaagt The Q-Club een utopisch beeld van pure schoonheid na, vanuit het droge aardse bestaan en via de hel op aarde, vol kunstmatigheden, ijdelheden en manipulatie. Een afdaling naar de alledaagse, vluchtige wereld door een groep romantische outsiders. Een obsessie met bijna onaardse schoonheid en harmonie kenmerkt ook de muziek van het pop noir kwintet The Q-Club (voorheen Vitalis) op hun debuutalbum Land Of Cockaigne (2003). Hierop domineren warm klinkende instrumenten zoals Hammond orgel, piano en Fender Rhodes. Het elementaire geluid ademt schoonheid en romantiek uit, maar ook een zekere dreiging; het breekbare gevoel dat geluk ongrijpbaar is of te allen tijde vertrapt kan worden. Als een existentialistische, Europese film voor de oren, vol sigarenrook, Jugendstil en getroebleerd dandyisme. Over The Q-Club zanger Jos Leo schreef OOR heel louterend: 'Leo heeft een monument van een stem die zorgt voor tijdloze pracht en het gevoel dat weinig op aarde nog verkeerd kan gaan'. Job, Joris en Marieke is een studio die zich bezighoudt met film, animatie en motion graphics. Hun werk loopt uiteen van vrij werk zoals korte films en animatiefilms, tot opdrachtwerk zoals leaders, commercials en videoclips. Hierbij ligt het accent vaak op het maken van animatie en motion graphics, in alle denkbare technieken. Hun beeld voor UNSOUND0010 maakt een belangrijk onderdeel uit van de voorstelling. Actress Scarlett Johansson debuted her music video for the song Falling Down. Our advice to Scar Jo is for her not to quit her day job. Scarlett is pretty eye candy in movies but she can't really sing. The debut music video doesn't do much to show any of Scarlett's singing talent by documenting her hair and make-up session. Are we missing something with this clip? Scarlett should stick to having people like Justin Timberlake sing to her in their music videos.
