My dad was Brian Rossi, a famous entertainer from Belfast. My mum is Pat Rossi who was his manager for many years. My dad is best remembered for being the lead singer in his group called The Wheels and being band leader and showman at the Plaza Ballroom, Belfast. He then gave Van Morrison his first break and subsequently Van Morrison wrote ''Gloria'' for The Wheels. Dad also had a huge English following. His most popular venue was the famous Queens Dolphin Bar at Cleveleys, Lancashire where he appeared for 7 years. Van Morrison always refers to dad in any interviews that he does. We had just finished filming a band and the next band to perform was nowhere to be found. The band was called Heaven. Well, it felt like hell to me. Time was ticking away and the crew was getting restless. Suddenly the manager for the band Heaven showed up and told me his band wasn`t coming anymore. I can`t remember his excuse, but I was not a happy camper. So, he walks away from me and standing nearby, kind of just hanging around was Suzanne Nuttall of Bare Bones. I tell her that a band stood me up and that I was screwed. Did you guess the rest of the story yet...She phones Patrick at work (i think) and he runs over to the Grand Cafe, they perform and save the day. The mayor of Montreal was so happy that he gave them the keys to the city in a wonderful ceremony that was held at the Montreal Forum in front of 30,000 grateful music lovers.
