from recent posts - blip.tv (beta) June 23, 2008
firstamericantv.com Hey, this is Joseph Yomtoubian and you're watching FirstAmericanTV.com, your number one online source for Real Estate news and advice. Your fireplace is the focal point of your home. But does your fireplace really fit your specific house? Does it need to be updated? It's amazing to realize just how much potential buyers will focus on it and it's an easy way to add value to your home. If you have a traditional home, then you might want to go with a brick fireplace, but if your home needs a little bit more, consider a marble or even a gas fireplace. They make cost a bit more, but you will end up with a much better deal when you sell your home. Thanks for watching FirstAmericanTV.com. I'm Joseph Yomtoubian. The market is down, but you want to buy property?
from recent posts - blip.tv (beta) June 23, 2008
firstamericantv.com Hey, this is Joseph Yomtoubian and you're watching FirstAmericanTV.com, your number one online source for Real Estate news and advice. The market is down but that doesn't mean you cant buy. There are few areas that are still strong. Even during this economic crisis, Arizona is a great market to purchase a home or an investment property. The prices are relatively cheap and the market prices is still seeing 7 percent increase a year. You can buy 3 houses in Arizona for the price of 1 in Los Angeles, then rent two out and live in one. Most important for developers is the ease of getting permits to develop on land. The state is eager to expand and is working with developers to reach its goals. Sparks #1
from Art - recent posts - blip.tv (beta) June 23, 2008
shazap.com Believe it or not he s making a comic, that s right William Katt TV s Greatest American Hero has created a new comic, Sparks, along with a new line called Catastrophic Comics. I welcome the line, the more companies we have out there producing material, the more there is for us to read and the more opportunity there is for new talent to be discovered. The question is does this book live up to the standards for excellence that William Katt promises in the beginning of the book. In my opinion, it s too early to tell. This was an introduction and not a lot happened. It wasn t boring enough to drive me away, but it wasn t anything that got me really fired up for the next issue. I didn t really like the art work, the colors were amazing, but the art was too sketchy for me and rough. Especially the female lead, who has a manlier jaw line than superman and doesn t convey the beauty that Sparks sees. I ll get the next issue and see how this series progresses but my hopes aren t too high. If you are looking for something new this is worth checking out but it s not anything revolutionary.

Ana Mercury #2

shazap.com I picked the first issue of this book up a while back and it has been so long I figured I had missed it but then here it was waiting for me this week. While this is on the indi label Avatar, it is hardly a small time book being written by Warren Ellis but it does still have that indi feel with new characters a new world and a unique story. I love this book. It has such a different story with a world that is put together so well and great characters to go along with awesome art work. Get in on this book if you missed the first on it shouldn t be too hard to find and you have your choice of four different covers. I ve chosen the painted variant but the wrap around is pretty cool too. This is my favorite new series and you should definitely check it out.

The Amazing Spiderman #563
from Art - recent posts - blip.tv (beta) June 23, 2008
shazap.com So, we ve got Spidey versus the enforces on Coney Island. Can you guess how this is going to turn out? Not very exciting. I get that they are bringing back the Spider Tracer mystery and I m sure that whoever it is that is trying to frame Spiderman for the crimes will lead to some big reveal but really do they have to make us work so hard to stick with it? Again I hate the fact that they have erased so much of continuity. You know what it is I was a big fan of the Michael Strazinsky stuff and how he made Peter s spider powers more than just a freak accident and I feel that with this Brand New Day they just pissed all over it. It didn t happen and that s that. This is especially frustrating because it comes at a time when the rest of the marvel universe is progressing forward in such a big way. Spiderman is present in the invasion stuff but where does that take place in his solo title. Is the Peter in the invasion books before or after the Brand new day because the brand new day is definitely after civil war but the invasion is now where to be found in the spidey books. The one good thing about this being three times a month is that it will be over faster. Can you imagine if this was delivered on a monthly schedule? I mean we ve already had over a years worth of books. I think I would have completely given up on it if that was the case. Well I ve ranted enough on this book, let me know what you think as well as who you think is framing Spidey by leaving a comment on the screen below.

Justice League America #22
from recent posts - blip.tv (beta) June 23, 2008
shazap.com The JLA has been less than impressive lately but I figured I d give them a new try as they move into a new story arch called The Second Coming . I ve always enjoyed the Red Tornado and his struggles between his machinery and his humanity. This is the eighth time that he is being transferred into a new body and of course something is going to go wrong. Just as they are getting ready to make the transfer into a new and improved body amazo awakens inside the old one and downloads himself into the new body after wrecking some of the Justice League. I like that they have brought back Amazo because he is a real threat and will lend himself to some really great action sequences. While this story arch looks to be worth trying out I still have a hard time getting really into the book. It reads like the old TV shows where a plan is set up, something goes wrong and by the skin of their teeth the heroes escape and save the day. It s just all a little predictable. At least this one should have some great action to keep your attention.

The Incredible HulkThe Movie
from recent posts - blip.tv (beta) June 23, 2008
shazap.com I thought this movie was great. It wasn t as entertaining a movie as Iron Man was but I feel like they just did everything right. The cameos were appropriate and in the right place, the characters were very true to their being, and how they handled banners relationship with the Hulk was very good. The dialog was a little stale, but the story itself was great. One of my favorite things about the movie was how they revealed the Hulk. I mean it was a good 40 minutes into the flick before we saw its face. It added just the right amount of mystery and anticipation. I was a little worried about how the cgi characters would look but I gotta tell ya I didn t think they were half bad. The transformation stuff was awesome and the faces looked pretty realistic. The action was amazing. Really one of the best I ve seen. The super soldier fight was really well done and they did a good job of opening up the captain America movie. I have to say thought that my favorite aspect of the movie was that the hero just flat out beat the other guy. He didn t need any help or some lucky move he just overpowered the bad guy and won. It is one of my greatest pet peeves in the super hero movie genre when the hero needs help to win. Superman needed the Parker Posie character, Iron man needed Pepper Pots, Batman needed Gordon, and so on. The Hulk just proved that he was the better man. Really good definitely a must see and if you can see it somewhere that has an extra large screen all the better.

another twist in US Democratic Primary and what Obama said
from - blip.tv (beta) April 14, 2008
Yet another twist in the US Democratic Primary- find out what Obama said coming up on this edition of Get the Daily. Welcome to Get the Daily.com, I'm Dana Ward here with your news update The Dalai Lama commented on Sunday that his aides had undertaken "some efforts" at diplomacy with the Chinese government. He said, however, that no further talks are in the works and that the Tibetan people would be unwilling to make concessions to facilitate such a process. The Dalai Lama explained this by saying that his people had become refugees and had little left to concede. The talks are taking place despite heavy criticism emanating from Beijing. Chinese officials have accused the Dalai Lama of inciting the protests, some of which turned violent, that have been ongoing in Tibet since March 10. This latest Chinese crackdown fueled widespread protests along the Olympic Torch world tour in recent weeks. The Dalai Lama vehemently denied these accusations and called on China to release Tibetan political prisoners and to provide them with adequate medical care. He also made a point of mentioning that the Tibetan people are not pressing for independence, but rather a greater degree of autonomy in their homeland. He also stressed that his people are not anti-Chinese and do not oppose China hosting the upcoming Olympic Games. At a San Francisco campaign event late last week, Barack Obama commented that people in depressed small towns "cling" to issues as religion and guns. The comments ignited a mini-firestorm in the media and rival Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton seized on the remarks and accused Obama of reinforcing stereotypes and being out of touch with the common American voter. Obama responded with his own critique, saying that the Clinton was playing politics as she had taken vast amounts of money from Wall Street types. He went on to say that his comments were meant in a positive way and were based on his work with such people in Chicago. I'm Dana Ward for Get the Daily.com and that's the news for today. Guess what time it is? It’s weekend box-office results
from recent posts - blip.tv (beta) April 14, 2008
Hey guys! At Get-the-Daily-dot-com, I'm Dana Ward counting down the Top 5 at the box-office! Barely holding at number 5 is Leatherheads. Clooney and Zellweger play-up this football period piece and helped the film bring in 6-point-2-million dollars over the weekend. Another movie dropping from its previous box office position, it s Nim s Island, featuring a talented Jody Foster and that cute kid from Little Miss Sunshine. The fantastical flick filled with mysterious island adventures brought in an even 9-million. And at number three dropping from its number-1 position last weekend it s 21. These M-I-T kids who hit up Vegas to count cards leave room for... Number 2. Bringing in 12-million-bucks in its first weekend at the box office is Street Kings. You can catch Keanu Reeves and Forest Whitaker getting down and dirty in this cop action drama. They re both on the L-A-P-D and one of them is accused of being involved in a fellow copper s execution. But who s good and who s bad at this police department? You ll have to check-out this one to see where the loyalties lie on the inside. And stealing the spotlight by a long shot at number one, we ve got Prom Night. It s an intense thriller with Britney Snow s character just wanting to be the belle of the ball and dance the night away with her high-school friends. That is, until it s all interrupted by a psycho killer from her past. It s a prom night nightmare, and it definitely has some serious jump-out freaky moments. This one stepped out in its debut weekend bringing in an impressive, 22-point-7-million dollars. Check back next week for the latest box-office results. I m Dana Ward. Thanks for watching Get-the-Daily-dot-com.
