Beach Walk #500 - Balancing Me & We
from Beach Walks with Rox: Daily Aloha from the Beaches of Hawaii September 26, 2007
Additional Formats: iPod | Apple TV |iPhone | The 500th episode. Yada yada yada. Secret Cameraman is off island (this seems to happen at all the major milestones!) and I'm waaay busy this week, so it's gonna be just another episode. It occurs to me that we are coming full circle. Used to be, we all really depending on each other for survival, and it was literally life threatening to speak or act outside of the tribal mentality. The big thing of the 60's and the hippies and the boomers and the yuppies, was discovering selfishness. Now though it seems there are many like Bill Spencer at the Hawaii Venture Capital Association who see the value to us as individuals by taking care of our communities in addition to ourselves. Funny enough, I've been carrying around my rake all week to clean up some of the broken glass and cigarette butts at the beach. While I was talking to Jim C, another man came up to borrow the rake as he wanted to do some clean up too! No pressure though - maybe today is a day just for you. Either way, it's all good with me. Blog Tag Meets the Law of Attraction
from - blip.tv (beta) May 11, 2007
There is a phenomenon in the Blogosphere called blog-tag. For those of you who may not be blogging savvy, here is a brief explanation: An original blogger starts the meme or an idea, project, statement or even a question that is posted by one blog and responded to by other blogs . She posts five things that you may not know about her. She concludes by linking to five other bloggers who then do the same thing. And on, and on, and on... It is a fun game as you get a deeper look into the blogger's personality and quirks. It is also interesting to plot the path of the meme. It can give one a real sense of connectedness and six-degrees-of-separation-ness. Here at Visualize Possibilities, we like to be visionary, innovative, and a little mischievious at times. This VIP Meme project gives us the opportunity to do all three! It also is a way to use the not-so-secret Law of Attraction (Hypothesis of Attraction?) to co-create (sorry for the buzz words, memes in and of themselves) a world that is just really quite charming and wonderful for all of us.Visualize Infinite Possibilities or VIP Meme guidelines:List at least five ways you will feel and/or what your world will look like when it works . Using present tense will be the most impactful, e.g. I am sitting in my garden feeling very peaceful and relaxed. We vaguely operationally define a world that works as one that most people agree is joyful, just, abundant, sustainable, and basically a really fun and healthy place in which for all six billion of us to live, a place where we feel centered and peaceful most of the time and where we feel free and safe to experience and express a full range of human emotions. Link to at least five other bloggers with a request for them to do the same. Be sure to include the keyword VIP Meme so that we can track and report on the success of this project by means of a keyword blog search. Be creative! You don't have to feel tied to the written word. If you have an insane amount of free time, you may want to use photos, video, artwork, sound clips, or even a Malcolm Cohen vision statement to make your contribution. If you feel tempted to express skepticism about this project or criticism about what others have visualized, please don't play this game. You could start your own blog-tag meme about why the VIP Meme is a silly idea. But if you do, be sure to link back to us. We'd love the extra traffic! Here are five aspects to my vision for the future:1. I am feeling very grateful for the sum total of my experiences including the ones that build character (a.k.a. painful or uncomfortable experiences).2. I am working with the children to make sure that their quirks and passions are acknowledged and are utilized as stepping stones to learning information as well as compassion, self-trust, and empathic listening skills.3. I am spending many meditative moments pulling weeds in the garden and tending to my nutritional contribution to my community. I would like some eggs this week so I am going to take some zucchini's next door to trade for a dozen eggs. I like my neighbors. Their chickens are a hoot! Each bird has an obvious and unique personality. Wasn't it strange when we used to not even know the personalities of the food we ate? 4. I am grateful that crow's feet are now considered sexy.5. Isn't it neat that Laurie Anderson did, in fact, rewrite the book of love and made it funny? Ready? Set? Tag, you're it!(Never one to follow the rules, I am going to link to more than five bloggers. You can link to more that five bloggers, too! The goal isn't to do a perfect blog-tag meme, the goal is to get as many people as possible to consider what they want the world to look like and how they want to feel about it.)Tim Flanagan, Aaron Tinling, Don Berg, Aaron Potts, Torilink, Jeff Pulver, Julietta, Rhonda Hull, Steve Garfield, Ryanne Hodson, Ajay, Daniel McLean, Anne Hartley, Eric Blue, Rox, Dave Gale, Tanja Andrews, Irina Slutsky, Daniel McVicar, Robert Scoble, Travis Wright
