October 10, 2003 Live performance by avant-garde jazz composer and violinist Leroy Jenkins at NYC SoHo art space Location One. Produced by Roulette. Jenkins worked in a multitude of contexts and was considered a master improviser. His solo concert music has astonished critics, who called him inspiring, illuminating...dazzles with his unique style . His recording on Tomato, Space Minds, New Worlds, Survival in America has received rave reviews. He performed in solo, trio and quintet contexts, and is also in duo settings with woodwindist Oliver Lake. It was Jenkins's collective Revolutionary Enemble (co-founded with bassist Sirone and drummer Jerome Cooper) that gained his prominence as the most significant violinist of the modern era.
