Videoblogging Week #6 - a little meditation on the slow, slow decay of winter in West Michigan. Most of my time shooting this was spent figuring out how best not to fall through the ice. Also, remind me not to go on a snow hike in clogs.

It s been a long time since I ve posted here. I ve been busy. Some updates are below. In the meantime My first video for Videoblogging Week 2009. It s late, but it s here. A superquick foray into kinetic typography - as with all videoblogging videos, this was made on the quick - with thanks to my sister at 6 years old or so. Sometime in the early 80s. The audio recording comes from the traditional cassette tape my family made every year on Christmas Eve. They still make me cry with laughter. Anna sang this damn song ALL THE TIME. Now I adore it, even if I have no idea what half the words are. In other news, my household has acquired 800 16mm educational films from Michigan State University surplus. We (read: Aaron) are slowly making our way through the piles, with some real gems, including a print of Norman McLaren s Neighbours (the edited version, sadly), which I regularly show in my classes. More pics here. Also, hilariously, I ve been granted an IMDB page for my film Testing the Undertow. Credits to all three of us who worked on it! I guess it means I ve arrived.
