Here's a wee film to show how you can party like there's no tomorrow at your local friendly V Festival as well save the planet (for all those tomorrows when you'll be too hungover to notice). These socially responsible punters at this year's Chelmsford V Festival aptly demonstrate how the circle of life can weave it's beautiful magic and conjure up beer money from nothing more than other punters' discarded paper cups. Yes it's true - empty beer cups = beer money. It's pure alchemy I tell you. Recycling has never been this much fun. Here's a look behind the scenes at 5FM (does radio have scenes to get behind?) in South Africa when none other Richard Branson rocked up to tell the world about the new South Africa Virgin Festival. So what was the essential fashion item of this year's V Festival? Well according to these Chelmsford fashionistas (oh and a few celebrity types - but what do they know?) it was either your common or garden welly or your practical hat. Rain or shine it seemed you were no-one if you didn't have a festival welly or a festival hat this summer. Check out this latest video to see which side of the fashion fence bands such as The Futureheads, The Young Knives, Tokyo Police Club and The Guillemots fall on when pressed for a response on the hard subject of 'wellies or Converse?' See what happened when I met the most awesome Brian The Hat Seller and then the top contender for owner of the best hat of VFest 2008 (and now my Facebook friend) - Chris Pryor. Whattaman. After about five minutes passed, Noel returned to the stage and played a song for the 25,000 fans. Liam also later returned to join in a performance of Wonderwall. The band then closed the show with a cover of The Beatles' I Am The Walrus. Zip to about 00:30 for the good stuff. Some drunken lout tackled Noel Gallagher of Oasis, knocking him down, and then leapt for Liam, but he didn't quite make it. After they 'escorted' the dumbass offstage, they took 10 minutes to 'regain their composure' and then came back out to play the rest of the set (minus Champagne Supernova, sadly).

Some guy (a real D-bag!) decided to jumped on stage and attack the members of Oasis during their headlining show at V-Fest on Toronto Island. In the video, he can be seen leaping at lead singer Liam Gallagher (having already knocked over his brother, Noel, off-screen) but luckily is taken down by security first.

At the Toronto Virgin music festival on Sept 7 2008, a fan jumped on stage during Oasis' performance of Morning Glory and was tackled by security. Noel is pushed down at 0:53 at the right of the screen before security takes down the fan. Liam tried to get a few swipes in after the fact. The show eventually resumed, but was cut a bit short. We have Virgin Festivals in the UK, US, Canada and Australia... and more to come. So where next should we set up camp and hire some of the world's most amazing bands to play? This is the kind of thing that keeps me awake at night. My choice would be Fiji. To get some more inspiration I went and asked some famous types at the Chelmsford V Festival this year. Sunday lunchtime at Chelmsford V Festival and what is the main thing on the punters minds? A day full of the Kings Of Leon, The Chemical Brothers, Kaiser Chiefs, The Verve... Girls Aloud, Goldie Lookin Chain even? 'Course not. Everyone is hungover, everyone is hungry. This is the prime time to gorge yourself stupid amid the infinite variety of fine food stalls. So after a long night of partying in the camp sites, we trolleyed on down to where the culinary action was at to witness these hardcore festival go-ers fuel themselves up for another day of musical appreciation in the Essex sunshine...

Is it even possible to condense the amazing spectacle that is the V Festival in to a headspinning one minute film? Small enough to take in one gulp but big enough to satisfy your craving for the sight and sounds of one of this year's best UK music festivals. Ladies and gentlemen we are floating in Chelmsford, the planet V is blue and there's nothing we can do... Go on - give it a try - it's the perfect cure for that post-festival comedown. Ease it down with a glass of water or crunch it up in a spoonful of jam if it helps. Just remember, if you really love VFest you won't spit - you'll swallow.
