At this year s Art Forum Berlin, Berlin s international fair for contemporary art, Spencer Brownstone Gallery presented a magnetic tape installation by Zilvinas Kempinas. It was the only work on display at the gallery s booth. The Lithuanian artist, who lives and works in New York is known for his works that use unspooled videotape as sculptural medium. At the 53rd International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia in Venice, Zilvinas Kempinas represented Lithuania with his installation TUBE. The British artist duo John Wood and Paul Harrison present a series of short videos, drawings and text prints at Von Bartha Garage in Basel, Switzerland. The works on display date from the years 1993 to 2009. The works center around making space perceptible and making sense of the world. The range from funny to bizarre to almost documentary and their aesthetics are always very minimalist and purist. Paul Harrison was born in 1966 in Wolverhampton, GB. He lives and works in Birmingham and Bristol. John Wood born 1969 in Hong Kong. He lives and works in Bristol.
