Tennessee Man Loses 20lbs in 2 Weeks on the Raw Food Diet!
from chiDiet: Raw Foods Blog March 27, 2008
Aloha, I m back from Hollywood and decided to post up this interview I did last week with a friend of mine, Larry Meggs. Larry is a retired law enforcement officer and as you can imagine one tough guy! So getting him to go raw, was quite a challenge. I ve been harping on Larry for many years now to make the switch and finally (8 years later) he decided to give it a try. In 2 weeks, Larry dropped 20lbs, his blood sugar dropped over 30 points from a 137 to a 95, and he has stabilized his blood pressure. I m so excited to see Larry feeling healthy again. I ve known him for such a long time and I m glad to see the spring in his step again. I recorded a quick 8 minute call with Larry about his experience at my home here in Midville, GA and the raw food diet. If you have a husband that is looking into the diet, this interview will help inspire your husband to take the simple leap and go for it! Podcast #20: Dec. 21, 2005 - A holly, jolly podcast... bring your own holly
from An Animal-Friendly Life, The Podcasts December 22, 2005
The big two-oh... For those of you who have been so kind as to e-mail me or post your positive comments about the podcast, many thanks. Please don't forget to review the show at the iTunes music store to help other listeners find the show. Surprisingly, this show is longer than ever, despite skipping a couple of departments again this week. I blame John Mackey. Or Bob Torres. Well, really me. Sometimes I don't know when to shut up, either. If you're tired of hearing about Whole Foods, you know where the fast forward button is... This week's SHOW NOTES: The Week In Review The following AAFL entries are discussed in today's Week in Review: L.A. Animal Services Dogfight L.A. Animal Services chief fired (I learned later today that the pronunciation is "boaks") L.A. City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo goes after ADL (though allegedly unrelated) PETA called pet-killers on CNN Free turkeys at work Follow-up to free turkey quandry My letter for a turkey-free holiday Sunday roast straight from the lab? TodayPlanet Ark/Reuters: EU States Face Legal Action over Whales, Dolphins Upcoming Events As many of you know, Christmas is this weekend, so that is the all-encompassing event in many quarters. Me? I'm volunteering that day at Animal Acres that day. Woo-hoo! Vegan potluck, and chores! Now there's a combo. : ) Blogwatch (Other people's news also, John Mackey/WFM (cont'd) Erik Marcus has an early Erik's Diner up Vance has a special holiday VegCast posted as wellSome new vegan blogs for you to peruse:Empiric Veganism Vegan Review Mail Bag Click on the links and scroll past the blog entry to see the comments referred to in today's Mail BagChristopher Jon comments on my turkey letter... ...and shares his own experience writing letters Rewfio's comment sends me on an investigation that finds Tribe of Heart revising Peaceable Kingdom yet again Yet another accidental reader stumbles across AAFL, and refuses to accurately read a post before commenting Gary from Animal Writings has been posting comments all over the web lately, and AAFL is fortunate enough to have him posting replies here as wellI mentioned these two books in my response to the Richard Pryor comment:T. Colin Campbell: The China Study Matthew Scully: Dominion Animal-Friendly Recipe o' the Week Hiatus... Visit Vive Le Vegan (Dreena Burton) for her final post ahead of the holidays. Animal-Friendly Purchase of the Week Also on hiatus, but I recommend a review at Vegan Review, though I'm kind of scared of the winners. I like my dark chocolate plain. But I do also recommend Newman's Own for that. Ask AAFL Q: "Why are you against free-range eggs?"
