In 1920, the anarchist Italian immigrants Niccola Sacco (Riccardo Cucciolla) and Bartolomeo Vanzetti (Gian Maria Volont�) are sentenced to death, falsely accused of a robbery and murder. Indeed they are condemned due to their political beliefs, in one of the most shameful and hypocrite judgments of the human history.

Set on Cape Ann in the early 1800s, The Last Days of Dogtown is peopled by the kind of characters often forgotten by history: widows, orphans, spinsters, scoundrels, whores, free Africans, and "witches." On August 21, eighty years after the executions the whole world protested, Watson returns to the Boston Public Library to discuss his new book Sacco and Vanzetti: The Men, The Murders, and the Judgment of Mankind. Along with recapping the gripping story of the two Italian anarchists at the center of the greatest cause celebre in world history, he reveals his findings from the archives. And then at some point, I can t say when, but at some point the name Sacco and Vanzetti just popped into my head and it was such a perfect comedy team name. Initially, it seemed so ridiculous, which it is obviously. But then the more I thought about it, the more parallels between anarchism and slapstick started to come out.
