Post-project Software Rant
from DJElectricDaddy April 14, 2008
Following up from the days earlier post about Project Stress. The project in question was finally completed and succesfully tested and delivered at 7:30pm on Friday of a long long week. The final disc was taped to the front door of the vendor who was flying out the next morning to the trade show our client was present at. I left it in trust and good faith it would be recieved safely. We uploaded a safety for good measure. After, I took a few moments to breath out, relax, and summarise my thoughts and feelings from earlier. Evidently I was not happy with the software I had entrusted my production's success to. Preperation is everyting in these short deadline gigs and the company I work for is often woefully unprepared. They have a habit of committing to work, projects, or technology without having an inkling of what it will take. And who gets to bite the bullet and figure it all out, with limited resources and get the whole show delivered in half the time? That's right, yours truly. But I'll save that for a future rant!

The PRWeb Challenge
from recent posts - blip.tv (beta) March 10, 2008
As an internet marketer, I have been a heavy advocate of using press releases to generate both immediate traffic as well as backlinks for my SEO efforts. For the re-launch of TheWebReviewer.com, I chose to step up my syndication price from $80 to $200 on my favorite press release syndication service, PRWeb. The added upgrade did provide more exposure and proportionally increased the number of news reads, but I was disappointed to find a minimal increase in traffic to my own website. This, of course, could be due to the content of the press release itself. Still, I may be a bit more hesitant on upgrading to the higher package. The verdict is still out on the SEO impact this release has on the site, but I remain optimistic that the keyword-rich anchor text will only help me in the long run. P.S. Sorry of the overuse of the phrase "From this Stand-point" in the video!

Thought I'd try this Quick Capture thingy...
from YouTube :: Videos by Zaranyzerak September 25, 2007
So I thought I would try out the Quick Capture feature to see if I can get some updates out a little more quickly and just generally be more spontaneous and put some blogs out as they pop into my head, rather than going through my usual complicated editing process - mainly because I would prefer to put all the time and effort into the Two Guys series at this point in time, rather than having valuable editing/compositing time taken up with video blogs. This way I can still give you guys some updates without really cutting into production time. This time around, the usual batch of updates - a bit about our impending move, some more info about the Two Guys series and I brag about my computer upgrades. :D Author: Zaranyzerak Keywords: update blog two guys effects box series computer upgrades graphics card green screen moving calgary victoria Added: September 25, 2007
