Dark Places uncovers sites of secrecy and technology across Britain. Commissioned byThe Arts Catalyst, the exhibition presents new artists' works that explore spaces and institutions below the radar of common knowledge. John Hansard Gallery Director, Stephen Foster in conversation with artists Neal White, Steve Rowell, Steve Beard and Victoria Halford. The exhibition also includes the work of Beatriz da Costa.

Emmy award winning documentary filmmaker, and presenter/producer of the hit Canadian TV show "The Naked Archaeologist", Simcha Jacobovici, visited the Parkes Institute at the University of Southampton to speak at the Montefiore Lecture. The Parkes Institute is a world-leading research centre for the study of Jewish and non-Jewish relations.

A quick trip around some of Glasgow's main sights. University of Texas at Austin, is a beautiful stroll. While there you might want to visit the Blanton Art Museum, The Harry Ransom Center, or Texas Memorial Museum of Science and History. The famous tower has reopened and is worth a look for the breathtaking views and history lesson. It is a tour though so you need to make reservations. The theater and music departments are both well regarded and have performances throughout the school year. If you visit during football season, you can see the 2005 National Champion Texas Longhorn football team play at Darrell K. Royal - Texas Memorial Stadium.

Shirk, a former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State responsible for China, knows many of today's Chinese rulers personally and has studied them for three decades. In her Thompson Forum lecture, Shirk will give an update on the state of China's internal politics and the fears that motivate its leaders. Susan L. Shirk is Director of the University of California's Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation, and Professor at UC-San Diego's Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies. A leading authority on China, she has written numerous books and articles on this subject, including pieces that have appeared in Washington Post, Financial Times, and Wall Street Journal.
