Jon Blais Part 1

from The Competitors Radio Show on December 20, 2006
Duration: 2077
Jon 'Blazeman' Blais is the only person with ALS-Lou Gehrig's Disease- to complete the Ironman Triathlon World Championship. The ALS Warrior Poet started out in the sport of triathlon as a teenager and never lost his love for it. He became a special education teacher in San Diego and created a special bond with the kids he worked with. He showed them through his example that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. Blazeman was diagnosed with ALS on May 2, 2005 which, ironically, was the same date that Lou Gehrig played his last baseball game for the New York Yankees in 1939. This is part one of a two part interview with the amazing Blazeman.
