Doug Saves Christmas
from YouTube :: Tag // SXSW May 08, 2008
Doug Saves Christmas is the tale of Doug being called to save christmas from the disgruntled Rudolph, who has stolen Santa's X-Mas list for the Mob. **note** This cartoon is very rushed at the end. It was made for a highschool project and still had a month before it was due, but the teacher wanted to enter it into SXSW, so Doug has to finish it early. Way early.... 3 weeks early. We ended up cutting more then half the script, including most of the Tom Hanks jokes we had in store, the trip to the North Pole, as well as some of Dougs encounters with more elves and even Santa himself. Hope you enjoy, haha. Author: OmgRunFilm Keywords: Doug Saves Christmas Rudolph ToonBoom Added: May 7, 2008

Prison Scene
from YouTube :: Videos by chluaid April 24, 2008
Here's the scene pretty much complete. It's only a few sec long, so I've made the video loop 5 times. You may notice the beams are a little disconnected from the spotlights, but that's because the spotlights aren't animated (yet). In the final, I've also added some static light spots on the ground underneath the four middle spotlights. If you haven't seen the construction series (Prison Construction in 6 parts), you can watch this scene being built from the ground up in timelapse. Check my channel for those. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comments & ratings! Here I've added rain, lightning, reflections and loads of lighting effects. After I add the left-hand spotlight and a few other finishing touches, the scene will be complete. Prison Construction : 5/6
from YouTube :: Videos by chluaid April 23, 2008
So just as the scene is starting to look cool, it crashes and I lose an hour's work. But hey, at least everyone gets to see my lovely Fable 2 desktop wallpaper. Everyone knows that a program never crashes unless you forget to save, so here's a screen capture video of the crash.. just when the scene was getting interesting. Now I gotta do it over again X( I don't think the software is to blame here.. I had a whole bunch of programs open across both monitors (Photoshop, iTunes, Camtasia, about 10 firefox windows, Skype and Flash). Despite the crash, you can see the lighting and effects taking shape. I'll catch up to the same spot then start part 6 (it'll be like you didn't miss a thing!). Here I'm adding the courtyard. Towards the end of this video, you can see how I apply a bluish night shade to the courtyard colours, using the Tint panel which is a really cool feature of the software. Prison Construction : 1/6
from YouTube :: Videos by chluaid April 22, 2008
Just a quick screen capture I took while working on my current freelance assignment. I can't reveal much about the project, but this scene called for the front of a prison building. The rough drawing (red sketchy lines) you see throughout the video is the storyboard which I'm working over. It's a loose guideline so my job is to add detail and make it look lovely. Conveniently, the building is symmetrical so you can see how I'm only drawing half the building, then I duplicate & flip it to complete the basic construction. I captured the screen at 0.5fps (1 frame every 2 sec) and the video plays back at 15fps. Which makes this around 410 seconds of work (almost 7 min). I'll capture some more on this scene as I add colour, background detail and effects. I'll post more videos of this process soon(ish). ----- Check out my forum if you're interested in learning more and developing your artistic skills: http://z7.invisionfree.com/Brackenwood ------- Software used in this video: http://www.toonboom.com/products/digitalpro/ --------- Screen captured with: http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.asp ------------------- Author: chluaid Keywords: layout bitey castle prison adam phillips toonboom tutorial Added: April 22, 2008

Imagine
from YouTube :: Tag // motion-graphics March 01, 2008
My first animation: done in Toonboom studio. It's not a very good animation as I had four weeks to complete the work, the software was self-taught, and I had never animated anything and had no idea of the time constraints. The illustrations, however, are worthy of your time! NALTS GET BUSTED ... true youtube stories
from YouTube :: Videos by channeIreview January 22, 2008
Long after the "true writer of the whatthebuck show" fun and games videos have ended, we see that both Nalts and Buck continue to reference it on their youtube pages. A little bit of investigative research allowed me to uncover the truth of the origin of the alleged hoax. Much thanks to Nalts for providing the voice for the animation -- although he wasn't as forth coming with providing the truth. Also thanks to Victor Willis, yes he was that cop guy in the Village People. Be sure to listen to the newest version of their top charting disco sensation at fallofautumndisco. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zAQbukZo6A For those unfamiliar with the Nalts writing for Whatthebuckshow controversey check out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WYC-TK6VMg & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpywvHV7Fp0 Author: channeIreview Keywords: nalts whatthebuckshow toonboom animation channeireview youtube true stories Added: January 22, 2008
