Mario and Luigi seek to toast Bowser - and YOU gotta help them! Hilarity ensues. My first attempt at making a cd-i Mario/Zelda video. My goal was to include a story with substantial depth, character development, and spaghetti. Unfortunately spaghetti did not make its way into the plot, instead included only as a minor cameo. While there are a few small poop-esque influences (and I admit youtube poop CAN be absolutely hilarious at times), I tried to use non-stop jokes as opposed to, well, repeating a half-second clip over and over again. For example when Mario reads the instructions, uctions, uctions, uctions, uctions, uctions, Nah, just kidding, there's none of that in there; it definitely isn't poop. But looks are deceiving when koopas are involved! Sound/voices ripped with Audacity, arranged ever-so-brilliantly in Acid. Videos spliced in Video Edit Magic (works like a charm, but can be very difficult when you constantly need frame-by-frame precision!) Extra video editing (mostly adding/animating superimposed images) in Flash. Flash somehow caused some sound/video sync issues, so the characters' mouths may be badly synced at times. Ah yes, the summer of 1995. The O.J. Trial. Fodder for many a comedy song. Here s one you ve never heard and probably for very good reason. It s pretty bad. But it is a bit of Throwing Toasters history, so here it goes out into the universe! Again, this was recorded in my parent s basement/room, back then called Behind The Bar studios because I made the area behind the bar in that room into a vocal booth (which as you can tell by the quality did wonders for fidelity). All the music was done with MIDI on my MacSE and the vocals were recorded live and the same time as the music into my stereo tape deck. Joining me on this tune are my good buddy from High School, Jason Roberts and a 12 year old Brandon Baciocco, the true singer in the family. Fun huh? No, not really. Especially that bridge. This tune was released on homemade tapes under the Head Hunter Country name.

China Lets Hope Is there away to help China? A way to help it cope Is it something quite small? That can offer some hope? Well it ever understand? Bottom up is the only way Top down doesn t work Can China change for a better day? Should people get a chance? Should they have a say? Beating them on the head Is that the only way? Understanding supply side economics Is it more than plastic food and plastic toys? Is it how the demand side is manipulated? And how it leads to false hopes and false joys? Can China be helped? Does it know that it s getting lost? Does it like the game that s been given it? Does it like the price and its great cost? Can China figure out the way? Or do we need to help China out? Buying toasters and waffle irons from Wal-Mart Does it help or hinder China s new route? Does China need help? Will history turn on a dime? It s done it before Is now the right time? What does China need? Is it a new set of rules? Is it new rules about trade? Or does it keep the old ones made up by our own fools? Is it time to stop and reconsider? Our fools created this mess that exists today What they have done is it crazy? And now, well we all have to pay? The earth has suffered from stupid ideas before Is it the stupid stuff we tote? That has been heaped upon us by fiat Why didn t we get a chance to vote? Was it a good idea? Was it the right thing they bid? Corporate hacks making the rules Do you like what they did? So what s next? It s a mess and China will have to pay Is it to boycott the Olympics? Or was there another way? Is it anything with the Olympics brand? Could it all have become fair game? Spending millions to make billions Do you suppose nobody came?

Okay gang, here it is. The earliest Throwing Toasters recording around (and actually it was released as a Head Hunter Coutnry song). I REALLY LIKE TO EAT POTATOES This was recorded sometime around, oh I d say the summer of 1995, in the basement room of my parent s house in Burlingame, CA. The music was all done on a MacSE and all vocals were recorded live with a radio shack mic going directly into my parent s stereo system at the same time as the music. Believe it or not, this song was actually played on the Dr. Demento show. He wisely edited down the 56 second song to about 45 or so. I d like to think I ve come a long way since then. I do feel it has a sort of Barnes Barnes quality to it. Mmmmm .maybe not. Yes, this does mean I m digitizing all my old stuff, so look forward to more in the future. Or dread it. Me, I m dreading it.

Now, the smart person would probably hang on and release this in Halloween, but if there s one thing around here we re not is smart. Also, it s pretty tacky to do a parody of your own song, but if Carla Ulbrich can do it, so can Throwing Toasters. Anyway, this was written and recorded in 2005 to send to a radio station for a Halloween song contest. It didn t win. But now YOU win because you get it here. For free. Trick or treat!
