Han pasado 40 años desde aquel trágico 2 de octubre de 1968. Ese día el gobierno del presidente Gustavo Díaz Ordaz reprimio a punta de balazos el movimiento estudiantil que protestaba por su gobierno autoritario. Desde entonces cada años se realizan marchas para recordar y exigir justicia por la matanza. Pero lamentablemente esto ha sido aprovechado por personas que sólo asisten a las marchas a hacer destrozos. ¿Acaso no aprendimos nada del 68?

La historia se ha narrado cientos de veces y aún hoy, a 40 años de distancia, es una herida abierta para una sociedad sedienta de justicia. La tarde del miércoles 2 de octubre de 1968 se perpetró uno de los crímenes más abominables en la historia del México moderno. Elementos del Ejército Mexicano y del Estado Mayor Presidencial y otras corporaciones gubernamentales abrieron fuego en contra de una manifestación de estudiantes universitarios en la Plaza de las Tres Culturas de la Unidad Nonoalco Tlatelolco. Las bajas, de ambos bandos, no han sido estimadas. Los factores que desembocaron en esa masacre fueron muchos y sus principales responsables han escapado de la acción de la justicia. En la conmemoración de este lamentable acontecimiento, los Testigos del Crimen retoman este caso como un homenaje a los caídos y a su legítima exigencia de respeto y libertad. Mexicans observe 1968 massacre Thousands of Mexicans marched across the nation's capital the Mexican government to establish the truth behind a deadly clampdown on student protesters 40 years ago and punish the perpetrators. The failure to confront the massacre on October 2, 1968, when security forces opened fire on students gathered in the Tlatelolco Square in the capital Mexico City, had left a "deep scar" in Mexican society. That scar can only be healed by full disclosure, bringing the perpetrators to justice and providing reparations to the victims or their families. It is shameful the even 40 years after the massacre the details of that day remain unclear, even the number of those killed. President Calderon cannot remain silent on this dark chapter in Mexico's history. The Mexicans in general and the victims families in particular want the administration to open all relevant archives and records, establish a new and independent inquiry and punish those responsible for this horrific crime. Lowest water levels in Sea of Galilee The government of Israel seems to be oblivious to the damage being caused to the country's largest lake, the Sea of Galilee. Four years of drought and relentless demand from homeowners and farmers has brought down the water levels to the lowest record ever. Despite the falling levels, pumping of the water continues from the lake. The main factor driving the unquenchable thirst is Israel's projection of itself as a country of pioneering farmers who made the desert bloom, much in contrast to the previous Palestinian owners who were prepared to live on the barren land. The Israeli government must initiate stricter measures to stop cultivation of alien crops that are not suited to the desert and then exported to the west. The drop in the water levels is not only causing increased salination but also affecting the fish stocks. Lo que define a una sociedad, su cultura y las tradiciones es sin duda: La historia. En el caso de nosotros los mexicanos en el mes de octubre y año con año muchos salimos a la calle a gritar consignas y -en muchas ocasiones- desvirtuar o en un sinsentido político-social recordar acontecimientos que nos han formado como la sociedad actual que somos. Los invito a acompañarme en este recorrido por el 02 de octubre y la represión estudiantil en la plaza de Tlatelolco, así como a recordar el descubrimiento de América el 12 de octubre de 1492. Nunca olvidemos el 2 de Octubre de 1968. Malditos puercos gobernantes. -La matanza de Tlatelolco ocurrida el 2 de octubre de 1968 en la Plaza de las Tres Culturas del Conjunto Urbano Nonoalco Tlatelolco en la ciudad de México fue una agresión militar y paramilitar (Batallón olimpia) fraguada por el gobierno mexicano en contra de un pacífico grupo de manifestantes. No se ha logrado esclarecer la cantidad de muertos, algunos estimados apuntan a centenas (más de 300 personas), pero casi todas las fuentes gubernamentales reportan una estimación de entre 40 y 50. Además decenas de personas resultaron heridas muchas otras fueron detenidas acusadas por delitos políticos. La fuente oficial reportó en su momento 20 muertos. Politólogos e historiadores coinciden en señalar que este movimiento y su terrible desenlace incitaron a una permanente y más activa actitud crítica y opositora al gobierno en las universidades públicas, así como a alimentar el desarrollo de guerrillas urbanas y rurales en los años setenta, empujando más adelante al cambio legal e institucional desde dentro del mismo régimen a través de la Reforma Política de 1977 para alcanzar la paulatina democratización del país. -Tlatelolco 68 Hace ya tiempo que a historia pasó, la gente no lo puede olvidar en Tlatelolco la sangre corrió de letrados que sabían la verdad. Esa injusticia al pais sacudió pero nadie lo pudo evitar las fuerzas armadas el gobiernó mando con orden directa de tirar a matar. Coro: Eran letrados y pedían justicia todos peleaban por un ideal pero el gobierno siempre a sido injusto por protestar los mandó a asesinar. Tres luces rojas cruzaron el cielo pero llevaban la muerte por detrás con guantes blancos cubrieron sus manos para distinguirse al empezar a matar. Masacre fué lo que pasó en Tlatelolco hombres y mujeres el gobierno mato, mató ilusiones y esperanzas del hombre en vano fué y su ideal se perdió.
