NICK'S P.O.V. --- She's amazing! I had NO idea she was this good at football...she's too modest to say anything! No wonder the guys on her team don't give her a hard time, she's a star player! REGULAR P.O.V. --- *Nick's stomach dropped when he realized that, while she was accepted on her own team, the OTHER team had a problem with the fact that she was a girl. They were putting more pressure on the halfback than, Nick was sure, they would have done, had she been a boy. Several times already, the gigantic boys on the other team had gotten past the fullbacks and smashed little number 13 into the ground. But each time, Nick was relieved to see, Gabrielle pushed herself back up, only to throw herself into the next play with even more force. Being the halfback, Gabrielle had the most running to do with the ball, and had completed many impressive plays, causing the other team to get more frustrated, and therefore more pissed off. The brutality of the game intensified as heavy rain started to fall, making the field muddy and slippery. By halftime, the score was 14-9, and Gabrielle's team was losing. The other team was simply too big.* (Sorry, skipping to the end of the game, it's going too slowly haha) *With a forty three seconds left in the game, and the rain pounding hard on the player's heads, Gabrielle's team gained possession of the ball, and managed to make it to the 60 yard line. Sixty yards to go, but Gabrielle wasn't about to panic. They were only behind by four points now... if they were able to get all the way down the field... they would have a chance to win this, the biggest game of the season.* *The quarterback, received the ball and prepared to throw it to a wide receiver. Gabrielle knew that in this specific play, she wasn't going to get the ball, so she split to the side, out of the way. She relaxed a little when she got out of the center of the mass of football players, and watched the quarterback search for the receiver, his arm poised and ready to throw. Then, out of nowhere, she was rammed by a 6 and a half foot linebacker from the other team. This boy showed absolutely no mercy, and Gabrielle flew threw the air and landed, face-first, in the mud. Groaning, she tried to sit up, and felt blood pouring from her nose. It had smashed against her helmet when she fell, and she was overcome by the pain of it. She looked up and saw her coach staring at her, unsure whether to pull her off the field, but Gabrielle shook her head and dizzily sat up. When she unsteadily managed to get to her feet, she turned to see the linebacker who had pummeled her laughing nastily from behind his helmet.* LINEBACKER: "Now do you see why girls don't play football?" *Gabrielle was seriously pissed off now. Who did this guy think he was? She let out a few curses under her breath, but turned her back to the jerk, who was still laughing at her. When she did, she caught a glimpse of Nick, pressed against the fence separating the crowd from the field. He was wide-eyed and obviously scared for her, but Gabrielle didn't have time to motion to him that she was alright. She determinately turned back to the game, her nose throbbing almost unbearably. The quarterback called the next play, and Gabrielle realized, with a jolt of excitement mixed with fear, that the play he had called was all about her. She was going to be responsible for the turnout of the game, with only fifteen seconds left. Still determined, she set her mind on what she needed to do.* *The center hiked the ball, and Gabrielle, her eyes searching through the steady downpour of rain, watched it hit the quarterback's hand as she circled around behind him. He passed her the ball, and she ran a V-cut to dodge another huge, opposing linebacker. Unfortunately, he managed to clip her leg, and she stumbled, giving another rival player the opportunity to hit her full on. She flew forward and skidded in the mud, but somehow, when she regained her balance, she was still clutching the ball. The last hit, however, had jarred her head even more than before, and she was literally being blinded by the pain. Still, she sprinted down the field, her legs burning, her entire body soaking wet and painful. She didn't think she had ever run so hard or so fast in her life. The blood from her nose was running into her mouth, and her head felt like it was going to explode from pain as she ran with all her might.* Author: MissNickJonas13 Keywords: Till the End of Time Jonas Nick Joe Kevin 33 Added: July 16, 2008
