So, yesterday we were out and about again, as usual, this time despite the heat. We traveled mostly by rail so it wasn't too bad. However by the end of the day a nice thunderstorm rolled in and cooled things down a bit. And I mean a BIT. We still slept with the fans aimed directly at the sofa bed. Oh and one other thing, I was putting together the title cards late last night and my writing was not the best--I think one of the title cards has more "the's" in it than "War and Peace." Sorry about that. I try to proofread everything, but I was tired and wanted to go to bed. Show me the way to go home... ;) Mobile post sent by thepete using Utterz.

This one was definitely trying to make a tornado. With a bit more rotation, it probably would have succeeded. Let me know what you think.

Yeah, people around me do this often. Of course, I'm the one standing in the middle of the field and staring up. But I'm usually looking at something amazing. And although some label me as a lunatic, I'm way past caring... After all, I've got thunderstorms to catch! Too right! And honestly, who wouldn't want to observe the terrific cloud formations, huge storm fronts and hypnotic dance of light and shade that tumbles in as storms...? That stuff is addictive! Then with trusty digital SLR Nikon poised, I can catch myself some of the beautiful 'angel pictures' I see up there, snap myself some cool cloud photos, and bring many more inspiring weather images into my folio... Personally, for me this is the best way to learn photography... No photography lessons required. Of course, you need to know how to fire the Nikon and reload it fast too. And keep it steady when wild winds are hammering you and the rain Gods are fast approaching... But be aware, for it's in those moments when the angels appear, dancing in peculiar cloud formations high above you... So... Will I see you out there too, watching and waiting for the right moment? If you're anything at all like me, you'd be mightily impressed when heavy thunderstorms, hypnotic cloud formations and huge storm fronts come rolling in... After all, what better chance to go observe nature... and take yourself some powerful cloud pictures at the same time. (It's also a great way to learn photography skills and practice 'perfecting' your cloud photography). Depending where you live, it's certainly magical to watch. I'm in the tropics, and our storms come in fast and dark and drop oceans on us... Before you know it, we're knee deep in water... But it's often the aftermath of the storm that's the most profound... if you can get out there and do some 'storm chasing' you'd find the potential to capture some amazing cloud photography will bowl you over... Whether you go looking for altostratus, cirrostratus or stratocumulus... or just go to be 'in the moment' of great thunderstorms... Just make sure you're prepared... the right (waterproof) gear comes in handy... you don't want to be blown away! Well...
