193,722 Views - Greenhouse Effect Songs Factsheet Five Zine - Greenhouse Effect Songs "Coke Snorting" May 1990 Phil Keegan Guitar. "22nd Street" Also ; Top Quality Video mp4 !! Ripping Reason from November 1992 and Clark Hagins ; Clark Hagins and Guitarist Phil Keegan (Dr. Phil) look back at their early days as members of what has now become Cyberspace Internet Alternative Rock's Best and most watched and downloaded band world wide in 2007. "In the early days of like 1989 and 90', We had important allys who helped to get our sound out there,..Great people like Factsheet Five Magazine" says Clark Hagins, Today 44 Years old and a Swimming Pool Cleaner in San Diego's North County. "Factsheet Five Magazine gave us reviews, they let us purchase key important advertising,...and best of all,..they were fair,..and somewhat, pretty much unbiased towards G.E., they let us be ourselves.. ,..they knew we were a buncha schmucks but they were objective to us anyway,..unlike Los Angeles's Bam Magazine ,..and some others who i won't name right now" says Hagins. Hagins, who is an unapologetic 'conservative' feels that his tight Christian upbringing and politics definitely played a role in the failure of G.E. back in their time while other more liberal bands thrived with major recording Label contracts and MTV exposure galore. "My parents and my family raised me to be a dick - lets be perfectly frank here" says Higgins ",..but I was also very shy, timid, kind, and vulnerable, I would listen to people,....I was very pure and honest and quite sincere,..it really came out strong in my lyrics,...but I remember,..if i ever spotted a Liberal person,..I became very rude and arrogant 'at' them,...I didn't mess around one bit,..I could spot a real phoney piece of shit ,..and I often 'always' let them have it,..there was a confrontation and a fight practically every where I ever went in the South Bay (Redondo Beach / Torrance Calif.),..but I guess 'that' is what makes G.E. so great and special today in 2007,....its why we got so big on the net and we get all those plays at Youtube n all,..WE ARE HONEST BLOKES - I stick up for Johnny Ramone and Ted Nugent !!" Guitarist Phil Keegan could never understand Hagins and his zest for politics but concludes; "Theres definitely something there,..we were one unique band,...We really were the templet that the major labels 'used' to build other acts,...You can plainly see that there wouldn't be an Everclear or Goo Goo Dolls without us - we revolutionized the three piece band act presentation" Hagins sees being an anonymous Swimming Pool cleaner as his 'punishment' for who he is and has always been ; "If God doesn't like or appreciate me,..then THAT is nothing new,....NO ONE understands me,..you may just go ahead and include the almighty in with all that category !!,..but ya gotta admit,...as BIG AS G.E. has gotten at Google in cyberspace,..ya gotta admit we are the Kings !!,...We are supremely entertaining above all,..WE 'ALWAYS' get a reaction,..NO ONE CAN IGNORE US,..You can't 'not react' to this !! Hagins recalls a trip to '251',..his old stomping grounds back in Redondo Beach California. "We were all sitting around the table and everybody was talking about how great this is and he was and this guitarist and that,.. and about old bands in the South Bay like the Jades and the Twisters but my wife happened to notice that the conversation went on for over an hour and nobody ever mentioned a word about the mighty G.E. ,....When we were driving back to San Diego she was like; "Those people don't even know you ,...they don't even know or care who you are,- they couldn't even name 'one' of your songs !....they don't even know who they are in the room with..!..." Keegan and Greenhouse consider themselves (along with many others observers of G.e.) as the true 'founders' of the 1990's alternative and grunge rock revolution ; "Just look at us,..who we were and you'l see its pretty plain and obvious,...Hagins mailed out our glossy pictures and shit to Labels,...the rest is history" Greenhouse Effect started out deep in the summer of 1985 crafting early milestone songs like "Precarious" which had influences ranging from Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin to Jimi Hendrix and Bubblepuppy. "Bubblepuppy's David Fore on drums is why I even exist as a musician and 'why' there 'was' a Greenhouse Effect" says Hagins. Greenhouse Effect Music is known today in 2009 on a massive internet scale for Blog driven millions of plays for the Hits "Brandy", "The Black / White Song", and 1989's "A Current Affair" with Keegan. Hagins says he actually particularly "Loves it" when People come on line to say 'bad things' today about the Mighty G.E. "It only gets us more traffic and interest,...Today, i realise that just like this lady once tried to tell me,..Bam Magazine was - in a weird twistedly funny way - trying to 'help' G.E. -,...HEY ,...JUST spell my name right " says Haggins .... ----------------------- Inevitable comparisons between the Keegan Dominated 'Early Years' of G.E. with classic Songs like "Magic Man" and Hagins and bassist Rick Carmody's later incarnation of the Group and more pop perfected masterpiece Songs like "Brandy" and "It Ain't Easy" not to mention "Ben is Dead" and "Star" from the 1991 "Going Legit" phase are a sore spot of contention and chagrine for Hagins who sees alot of people call the latter years of G.E. akin to VAN HAGAR ; "I'll admit that on the South Bay Street (and elsewhere too), they say that G.e. after Keegan is really just one or two songs where-as 'those early days' are the 'real' G.E. where we played all those killer gigs n all ,..."YEAH,..that shit hurts" says Hagins ",..but 'thats' the South Bay for ya,..they come on Youtube under phoney profiles to 'get' me,..I guess they got nuthin' else to do"... Hagins concludes that 'back in the day' , many in the South Bay didn't even consider G.e. a worthy real band worth playing a show with (Much less coming to a G.e. gig at all)... so thats when and where Hagins started taking matters into his own hands and booking his own 'music festivals" impromptu-style,..often playing his band in the 'middle of the set' to make sure they got the key crowd while paying out some three hundred dollars to the city of Torrance to get the gigs booked at the Wilson Park Gazebo ; "I remember that other bands were very resistant to letting G.E. be part of a playbill ,..So i started booking my own shit,..and then "I" would be the one inviting 'others' to come play,...and I remember that the day of the gig,..quite often ,..these local like bully thugs would 'show up' at my gigs,..literally trying to shut it and me down ,..whilst doing all they could to humiliate me,....it was real embarrassing,..a nightmare - just being me,..but I always took note that few of my so-called 'firends' would come to my aid or back me up,...what a buncha shit that was !! I DID EVERYTHING FOR EVERYBODY IN THAT TOWN " "I tried to always stand up for my beliefs" says Hagins ",..and I had a sense of humor I mixed it with ,..I told good jokes at shows" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Download EnV's Debut Beautiful Thing EP NOW on iTunes! http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZ... http://www.envofficialmusic.com http://www.myspace.com/EstefaniaandVa... Sunshine hits the grass, When you come towards me, I can still see the bright gleam, In your eyes, can't relax, Breathing fast. I thought you'd know where I'm at, With the wind full blown, I can still hear the sweet sound, Of your heart, on my chest, On my chest. It's our pacing, That's erasing my pain. It's my kindness, Not placing the blame. It's the feelings, Rushing through my brain, With my heart pouring out, As sweet as sugar cane. But Uh Oh, my heart just cracked, Your love was attacking me fast. But Uh Oh, my heart just cracked, Heartaches Everlast. I saw you sitting in class, Began to write everything, That I felt within my shortness, Of breathe, hold me back, Hold me back. I thought you'd know where I'm at, With my mind on you on the time, You think that I am obsessed. It's the cravings, Blasting through my veins. With my tear drops, Down my window pain. It's the feelings, Rushing through my brain, When they go each way, It's what drives me insane. But Uh Oh, my heart just cracked, Your love was attacking me fast. But Uh Oh, my heart just cracked, Heartaches Everlast. Uh Oh, Take my life for a spin Don't rewind me, (Uh Oh) When I'm in trouble You just seem to find me, (Uh Oh) You're love is the one That defines me, (Uh Oh) Heartaches Everlast.... I scream when I shatter a glass, When you grab me by the arm, I feel a chill from the past! But Uh Oh, my heart just cracked, Your love was attacking me fast. But Uh Oh, my heart just cracked, Heartaches Everlast.
