Kylie's POV We walked for awhile still holding hands. I didnt mind the silence. He didnt need to say anything to let me know how he really felt. He had a smile on his face and thats all that mattered. I losened my hand from his gesturing to let go before my hands sweated the Niagra falls. But he quickly my hand back into his grasp and squeezed it a little holding onto it firmly. I was surpised by his suddenness of not wanting to let go. But happy nonetheless. We stopped on a bridge looking out into the ocean. It was a breathtaking sight..a breathtaking moment. There wasn't a trace of people around. It was so quiet and beautiful. Nick stood a little bit in front of me and stared out into the ocean. By now I had let go of his hand because Nolie had texted me to call her later. His back was turned to me and he finally spoke up in our never ending silence. "Did you..did you mean everything you said?" he asked softly. "Every word.." I answered in the same tone as his. I could hear him smiling on the other side. But he still didnt turn his head. "Kyle, you dont realize how long its been since someone has made me this happy. Come to think of it, i dont think any one has ever made me this happy. Whenever im around you, I just..i dont know. And what you did for me tonight, exceeded anything i could ever want. I know that was hard for you to sing again especially to the world considering your dad passed away..." his voice turned into a whisper, "thanks kyle..for everything". I could tell it was a little hard for him to open up to me like that, and it sounded as if he had more to say but was too scared to say it. In truth, i knew what he wanted to say, because i wanted to say the same things. But right now, friends is all I can handle. I liked being Nicks friend. There was never any akwardness or wierd feelings when we shared moments or feelings with eachother. It was natural, and there was no need to push a relationship out of an instant connection we've managed over a week. I stepped closer to him as his back was still turned. I slowly wrapped my arms aroun his waste resting hy head on his shoulder placing my lips there. Looking out into the ocean. "You give me way to much credit. I did this all to show you my appreciation. I met you when i was at my lowest low. I didn't want to let it show. And through trying to act like I was a happy normal girl, you brought out the true happy girl inside of me and made me accept and forget my past." We stayed there for another moment and I closed my eyes. "Kyle, have you ever just met a person and just knew you wanted to be with that person and wanted to do everything you could to make them happy. But didnt know what to do because its been such a short amount of time?" I knew he was talking about us. And i also knew he intended to say that as a way of telling me more of how he felt. I couldn't deny my feelings growing for him, after every word we said to each other, every time we looked at each other, or every time we laughed. But its just not possible right now to go any further with him. I replied wrapping my arms a little tighter around him. "Time doesn't determine the bond Nick. Its just a mere way life works. People assume it takes years to build a strong connection with sometime. But time's not the variable. Its the people." "Yeah" he simply said knowing that i had said it all. "Nick...just wait for me". He knew exactly what i was talking about and whispered, "I will." I closed my eyes and said, "Five more minutes. Just five more minutes of staying like this, then I'll let go and we'll go back to the house and go on with life as usual." I shut my eyes and tried to savor the moment, seeing as this was the only real moment we could step out of reality and be with each other and in another five minutes we would just go back to being Nick and Kylie. Best friends. He turned around and wrapped his arms around me and held me close. I listened to his heartbeat and we stayed like that until the sun finally set. Make sure you read the others first if you havent! 12 literally just uploaded so check it out =D The week sped on by because it was now Friday and I had spent all week planning with Mrs. Jonas Nick's surprise. He had no idea what i was doing but he stopped by the shop any time he could just to say hi. We didnt have time to see each other much because if i wasn't working, i was in the studio. And if i wasn't in the studio, i was running around figuring out stuff for school and what to do once i have to go back. Nick and I might as well have been together because we texted each other constantly. He would send me the most random texts saying things like "Shut up, your beautiful" at the exact moments I was getting frustrated with my outfit choice or when my hair wasn't cooperating. I would text him back teasingly calling im a psychotic stalker. But i knew it was just coincidence. It was cute how he gave me little pick me ups through out the day. I called him every night before i went to sleep to wish him sweet dreams. Which only ended up making us talk for about another hour on the phone. So i guess it wasn't SO hard not really seeing him all week. It was saturday morning and i woke up eager since today was "the day" I called Nick excitedly, ignoring the fact that it was only 7:30 am. Nick: I hate you what do you want? Nick said groggily into the phone. It made me laugh knowing he was completely kidding but too tired to say so. Kylie: Oh come on! Is that really a way to talk to someone who is planning you're surprise today? Nick: Im sorry, but do you really have to wake me up this early? C'mon Kyle just let me sleep till like noon. The show last night made me exhausted! Kylie: Haha okay fine, i just wanted you to look forward to the surprise as long as possible. You know to torture ya a little. But if you're that tired then go ahead. I'll text you with all the details later. Sweet dreams! Nick: haha im excited im excited, just deathly tired. I'll talk to you later Kyle. Bye I hung up the phone and surprisingly went back to sleep until ten. I set Nolie and Kevin up for a day out that day so I had the house to myself. I packed Nolie's bag so she could stay over at the Jonas's and practically shoved her out of the house. "Enjoy!" I smiled as i waved my fingers at her innocently. She rolled her eyes and laughed at me. I spent all day preparing the surprise for Nick. Mrs. Jonas came over to help me. Before i knew it, it was 4 o'clock. Two hours before Nick had to come. I got ready and planned my outfit to the tee. Hair parted on the side straight down. I ran my fingers through it and shook it up a little to create "the effect". Haha. I wore a light jean skirt that had little frays and little rip patches. A black fitting t-shirt with a big silver metallic peace sign covering the whole front. It was simple. Over my shirt i wore a black and white checkered cardigan sweater. (Its just like a knit sweater that nick has a lot of? For those of you who dont know what cardigans are =D) For shoes i wore my low top green converses. I put my charm bracelet on and looked one last time in the mirror. "This is as good as it gets" i thought to myself. By the time i had showered, straightened my hair and found the outfit it was 5:30. I called him 20 minutes later after finalizing the finishing touches. I gave him the okay to come over and i could tell he could sense the nervousness in my voice. "Dont worry" he reassured me. "Whatever it is, im sure i'll love it..and thats a promise". I smiled and got less nervous. Nicks POV Her last text message made me blush because i could almost hear her voice saying the words she texted. I decided to call her just to hear her voice one more time. "Hello?" she answered a little bit tired. "Hey you" I said happily K: Heeeey there! Haha feels like ages since we've talked huh? N: Yeah basically haha K: Proves how much you've managed to miss me after less than twenty four hours haha..just kidding N: Dont be. Because I really have.. K: Haha dont worry me too. But I've already planned my surprise for you in my head so dont make any plans saturday kay?? N: Okay i'll try, but I cant make any promises. I dont know if the Jonas Brothers have anything planned. After showering and unpacking the few things I had, I climbed into bed and it was like climbing into a cloud. I sank into the softness and closed my eyes. The moment was short lived when i heard my phone buzz. It was a my text reminder. Hm it was from Nick, right after we hung up and i went to take a shower. I opened my phone to read the text: Sweet dreams =] *kisses your forehead* I closed my phone and shrieked a little with happiness. For the past few nights it's become so routine for Nick to do those things. It made my heart flutter that he would find a way to do it even if he wasnt with me. I imagined his soft lips lightly kissing my forehead and remembered his amazing scent. Im Kylie, I'm 15 years old and im tired. Tired of what you may ask? My witch of a mother. This was the last time i was going to take any more of her idiocy. I could honestly say i hated her. She made my life *excuse my french* a living hell. I had had it. I ran up to my room. Grabbed all of my necesseties and threw them in my back pack. I got my visa card and felt under my bed for my box. Oh god where is it. AH HA! I got it! The box my dad told me to put my money in to save. Little by little my cash added up. Oh man i had that box since i could remember. I remember my dad always telling me, "A little goes a long way Kyle, sooner or later this box will add up and come to good use". I guess your right dad. To tell you the truth my dad died 3 years ago. He and my mom were divorced and i was under his custordy. My mom never gained back full custody. She only had half custody over me and the court had the other half. Well i was off. I ran. Where? Kurts. I felt the fresh hot tears still on my face from the last blow out with my mom. And in no way was i about to stop the tears from flowing. I stopped at Kurts office. Kurt was like a second dad to me. He was my uncle to be quite honest and he was a head judge at the courthouse. He looked me in the eye and told me all of the risks i was taking by letting go of my mothers custody. "Kyle, i want you to know if anything happened to you, i wouldn't forgive myself, but if you are sure honey, then i'll do what it takes and take care of everything for you." My heart ached when i heard him call me Kyle. It was my dad's nickname for me. And i havent heard it in three years. I looked at him and nodded my head. He took me back to his house and him and my aunt Angela set up for me to fly out to LA the next morning. I was staying with his daughter, my cousin Nolie. The next morning came sooner than i thought as i boarded the plane and thanked my aunt and uncle with the most sincerity i could show them. And they knew that i was truely grateful. I boarded the plane and sat next to a curly hair boy that i didnt think too much of. Apparently he was with another little boy. But i shook it off and popped in my ipod, I looked out and saw the blue sky, and knew that i was on my way to a new life. Nicks POV --- I was finally going back from my visit to grandmas. I dont know what mom and dad were thinking sending me alone with Frankie. Im responsible yes, but frankie was just one tough cookie. Okay i did not just say "tough coookie". Anyways i was watching him sleep as a saw a girl sit next to me. I felt my heart skip a beat but tried to brush the feeling off. She seemed about my age, normal teenage girl. Her eyes were piercing blue. But I could tell they were color contacts. Her hair was dark and hung perfectly down to her elbows. She wore a quarter sleeve t-shirt with black sleeves and the rest was white. HEY! Its the same Elvis Castello shirt i have! She had simple ripped jeans and some black converse. I figured she caught me staring because she smiled and ran her fingers through her hair. Kylie's POV --- I felt a pair of eyes gazing so i looked over at the curly hair boy and smiled. Wow, I've never seen anyone so goregous up close in my life!! I ran my fingers through my hair. Ugh nervous habit i've never been able to shake. Play it cool Kyles, you have too much going on to think about a boy that technically you've only stole glances at. There is a pleasant, almost connect-the-dots exactness to the proceedings tea 4 two restaurant, Cafe, which anyone who spends an inordinate amount of time in the company of women (like I do) will recognize almost instantly. For a while, in fact, I didn't even bother taking my wife there, or either of our two daughters, or our beloved Oprah-loving babysitter from Nepal, or even our beloved (female) parakeet, Fluffy. The idea just seemed too obvious. Everything about this neighborly little Brooklyn bistro on the cobblestone corner of kings highway and East 4th Streets, is competent, tidy, almost amusingly just-so. The walls are decorated with winsome arrangements of pressed ferns under glass, stuffed songbirds, and other naturalist knickknacks. There are fresh flowers on the bar, the candles in the bathrooms are scented with golden mimosa (there are fresh flowers there too), and if you ask one of the waitresses where the name comes from, she might tell you, as mine did, that it was inspired by Abbaye de Cluny, the famous monastery in France. I don't know what they eat in monasteries these days, but in Tea 4 two restaurants, the menus rarely vary. Tea 4 two is of course, the founder, of the Tea 4 two on kings highway in Brooklyn ny. As such, she is at least partially responsible for elevating the great American faux-brasserie dinner (salad, steak-frites, profiteroles with chocolate sauce) to the hipster equivalent of, say, the Happy Meal. She and her partners still run the tea 4 two (and it's brooklyn's Café), and Cafe seems to have been conceived as its petite, slightly more civilized West Village relation, a place where you can obtain neighborly, moderately updated versions of old Odeon chestnuts like beet salad (in this case with artisanal baby beets and aged goat cheese), and salad frisée (topped with egg). Duck confit also appears on the menu, as do pan-roasted cod and, of course, hanger steak, presented here not with frites but with healthful portions of Swiss chard and fingerling potatoes.
