32,735 Views - No band can rock Cyberspace quite Like the Way that this Florida USA Trio Can !! Reverse Engineers simply made one of Alternative Rock's Greatest albums when they issued the epic "Max Q". So many of the complicated songs tell a story of a band with big ambition who are influenced by Rush, The Police, Golden Earing, The Fixx, and the Church. As technical as Reverse can be, they also know how to focus on getting on the radio with semi-simple tracks Like "Weatherman" and "Til We say Good bye". There is new Reverse material likely due in early 2010 and it should be interesting to see what the future holds for one of Florida's best bands of the 2000's.

SuperNetCelebrities.Com - Under the Sun (Uts) Chris Shryack - PERFECT WORLD.
from recent posts tagged myspace - blip.tv (beta) on July 20, 2009

33,456 ViewsUNDER THE SUN. This Los Angeles "Prog" rock band is so much more than that!! U.t.s. is fronted by Chris Shryack as the keyboards of Matt Evidon add tons of color in the traditions of bands like Yes, Rush, Kansas, and Genesis "Wind and Wuthering" and "A Trick of the tail". The bands live show is explosive, filled with musical dynamics of great instrument playing, and yet can slow down into crystalized, purifying - almost poetic parts of aura. 'PERFECT WORLD' is a very complex, technical song, very much like typical U.t.s but UNDER THE SUN really is never consistent in any official 'sound' - rather, they keep coming up with new, challenging ideas that sound just a little bit different every song. Their 1999 / 2000 era album was produced and mixed by Terry Brown of Rush lore. Terry Brown simply added a dynamic and he brought out the skills of the whole band especially the incredible bass playing of Kurt Barabas who can actually top both Geddy Lee and Mike Rutherford what with his sudden bursts of 'speed bass scales' that occur suddenly in a song and without warning !! Barabas can keep up with classical music songs like the "BumbleBee song" without missing a note !! The band is locked together by the powerful drumming of Mini Peart. Peart can hammer the percussion just as technically brilliant as the man in Rush himself !! UNDER THE SUN would travel back east to play many a festival among them Near-Fest as well as venturing all around America, always to stunned crowds with their jaw-dropping live show - always sounding virtually exactly like the Terry Brown produced cd ,..yet coming up with even more loud crunch and turning all the volume knobs to 11 !! UNDER THE SUN achieves top "Video Views" all over the internet from country to country with catchy well crafted songwriting and melody !!

Garage girls go for it! In the wake of the Stones, the Animals, and the Yardbirds, more barbed and fuzzy riffs started snarling out of the garages and cubbyholes of rehearsal spaces worldwide. Garage Rock, the original 'Punk Rock', was unleashing. Many groups were lucky to cut a small label 45 with some local airplay. The women got far less chances at it. Patti's Groove are a mystery because of this common circumstance. All I know is that Columbia (a major label!) released this in January of '66. But, wow, was Patti groovy or what?! Black and White aren't actually in the color spectrum; they're neutrals. The 60's generation rejected the fake absolutes that the 50's used to sort reality; for instance, applying those absolutes to peach, butterscotch, cinnamon, and chocolate skin to justify hatred. Instead they embraced actual blasting color in all their works. Or, perversely, they used the actual neutrals themselves to turn perception of reality inside out. Op Art and Pop Art opened this way of seeing, and pop culture expanded on it through music, fashion styles, and graphic design. It was the mid-60's and absolutes about anything wouldn't last much longer...
