New Agreement
from Christianity For Today July 13, 2008
Hebrews 8 . The old agreement (the Law) didn't work. Nothing wrong with the Ten Commandments. But there is something very wrong with man. God made a change - a new agreement (the Gospel) that works for us. It is better. Far better. It gets into our hearts.

Luke Skywalker and Yankee Doodle - A Look At Context
from The Word Is Grace March 30, 2008
Paul said that we are to understand what God’s Will is …so, what is it? In its proper context, the will of God in our lives is for us to be obedient to what He expects from us. But what does He expect? We will have a much better understanding of what is expected of us if we look at the Word of God through a Hebraic perspective. If the New Testament Scriptures are taken out of context they tend to lose their original meaning. We, in the West, like to put a western slant on what we read in the bible. The bible was written primarily by Jews, for Jews – it is a Hebraic message from start to finish. From the idea of a Messiah, to the Ten Commandments, to being kind to others – even the New Covenant that we are a part of - all of these things are written from a Hebraic point of view, and found in a Hebraic group of books that we call our bible. Paul said that we are to emulate him, as he emulates Jesus. What did Jesus do? What did Paul do? Jim Denman and Tim Terry will challenge your thinking in this episode of The Word Is Grace, as we look at the scriptures in their proper context. We believe that it is evident that Jesus and Paul both obeyed the Torah of God. We call it the Law, but the word Torah means “instruction”. Without following the Torah, Jesus could not have been without sin. Listen with us as Jim and Tim explore the context of the scriptures, then go back and check these things out – have you put your own meaning on some of the things that the bible says?

Limited Appeal - Smiling balls
from Limited Appeal October 22, 2007
We start with John taking his turn at hosting "What am I eating?". Listen very carefully, because there's always a chance he might "reward himself", so to speak. Play along with your friends and try to guess what he's eating in spite of the lack of audio clues. You can't possibly do any worse than T-bone, even if you don't have KY all over your hands. After T-bone cleans himself up, Warren asks why the seven deadly sins are not properly covered in the Ten Commandments, and issues another (terrible) ultimatum. Somehow the lesson from our banter is that actors should refrain from morally objectionable roles. I know, it's bullshit. Tell us why you think so via email (maskedman@limitedappeal.net). Theme music courtesy of General Patton vs. The X-Ecutioners and Ipecac Recordings.
