Fran speaks to One Tel founder Jodee Rich about yesterday's end to the eight year civil case.

In a dramatic end to an eight year long legal saga yesterday, our corporate regulator ASIC was left with egg on its face and Australian taxpayers with a legal bill in excess of $30 million. The NSW Supreme Court threw out the civil case against One Tel founder Jodee Rich and former finance director Mark Silbermann, clearing them of any wrongdoing in the collapse of the telco. ASIC accused the pair of misleading the board about One Tel's true financial position ahead of the company's collapse in 2001, but the court rejected the regulator's push to have them pay $92m in compensation because it had quote "failed to prove any aspect of its pleaded case".
