Highlights from one of Purdue's greatest players of all time: Dorien Bryant. Dorien Bryant may be small at 5'10" and 175 lbs., but he is a big time receiver. Bryant led the Big Ten conference in catches per game for the third consecutive season this year. With 82 catches for 871 yards and 8 TDs this season, he also finished his third straight 80 catch campaign. According to an article in the Sporting News, Bryant's 287 career catches now rank him second in Purdue and Big Ten history behind former Purdue receiver Taylor Stubblefield (325). He has averaged 71 yards receiving per game for his career and caught 21 TD passes. Bryant has also proved to be extremely versatile during his career at Purdue. He averaged 28.5 yards per kick return this season, including a 98 yarder, one of his two KR touchdowns. Along with his kick and punt return duties, Bryant scored 6 rushing touchdowns during his four year stay in college. With only one career game without a catch, Bryant showed a great deal of consistency on the field. He does occasionally drop an easy catch, but tends to always hang onto the tough ones. He has the potential to be an excellent slot receiver in the NFL. The senior runs solid routes and could see his stock soar if he can run in the 4.4 range at the combine.
