IN THIS EPISODE Oyster lore says oysters should only be eaten in the "R" months, September, October, etc. Unless of course, the oyster was pickled. Now we safely eat oysters year round thanks to the advent of refrigeration. Well in a nod to the New York City's grand past when there was an abundance of oysters, we visit a famous oyster bar called Shaffer City and ask the owner about this time period. We also taste some exclusively made dishes that involve oysters and pickling. And yes, even though we're still enjoying the lingering days of summer, here at The Pickle Club, we're FALLING FOR PICKLED OYSTERS.
