In a busy fishing village where the sea is life, there lived the powerful Victoria (Cherie Gil). A devastated Victoria seeks the help of a powerful seamonster, Dugong (Malou de Guzman) to curse a couple. Being the manipulative woman that she is, Dugong grants Victoria's wish. She casts a spell on the lover's first-born, Marina. And just when Elias and Esther believe they had escaped Victoria's fury, comes their worst nightmare. On Marina's 7th birthday, she transforms into a mermaid. Knowing that the townspeople regard mermaids as creatures that bring bad luck, Esther opts to send Marina to the sea to live a peaceful life with those of her kind. Marina then meets Istah (Sunshine Cruz), the lovely Queen of the sea. Kind and loving, the queen decides to keep Marina and love her as her own child. Having the heart and mind of a human being, Marina dreams of nothing else but to walk again and live the life that was taken away from her. This is only possible through Dugong. With only the guts and will to keep her strong, the poor mermaid seeks the help of Istah, who gives Marina her precious necklace to be offered to Dugong in exchange for her legs. She becomes human again and returns to land to claim everything she has lost. But she will soon discover that when the moon is full, she becomes a mermaid again. Only true love's first kiss can free her from the curse.
