Institubes - One More Song - episode 1: Hooligan Disco
from subdrive - underground electronic culture July 16, 2008
We had the opportunity to interview the Institubes guys a few months ago for the site (yes, the extended interviews will be posted...don't worry). While we were filming I noticed Para One had a ultra-compact camera (you'll see it in the videos), documenting every little tid bit of their hang out. If you didn't know, Para One was (and still is) a film maker. Most interviews don't go into it as folks focus on his music production side. But he's a true artist with multiple hats and his latest piece, ONE MORE SONG, documents a 3 week tour the Institubes guys did here in the United States. Starting in New York and ending in LA; Surkin, Drop The Lime (or Curses!), Orgasmic, and Para One himself search for the perfect party. The video is extremely well edited, and is described as "a road movie of sorts, a documentary on the life of young musicians on tour, a truthful account of their quest for endless skies and perfect parties." Below is One More Song, the first episode, in its entirety. Hooligan Disco (w/ English subtitles) from Institubes on Vimeo.

One More Song: "HOOLIGAN DISCO" (fr subs)
from Dailymotion - featured videos May 30, 2008
Montage : JBL & Drieu. Author: INSX999 Tags: onemoresong paraone surkin curses orgasmic tour institubes Posted: 31 May 2008 Rating: 2.8 Votes: 26

ONE MORE SONG: "Hooligan Disco" (En subs)
from Dailymotion - featured videos May 27, 2008
O N E M O R E S O N G Episode 1: Hooligan Disco In September 2007, Para One, Surkin, Curses! and Orgasmic embarked on the Hooligan Disco tour, a thirteen-cities, three-weeks journey through North America: Chicago, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Riverside. Jean-Baptiste de Laubier (aka Para One) was filming constantly, putting together a 45-minutes video tour diary that transcends effortlessly the promotional limitations of the genre, thanks to his keen eye for the candid, the prosaic and the beautiful. They go from venue to venue, from airport to airport, they wait, they play, they drink and ramble. The result is a proper film, a road movie of sorts, a documentary on the life of young musicians on tour, a truthful account of their quest for endless skies and perfect parties. And this is only the beginning. One More Song is a series. Forthcoming episodes will follow the crew in Japan, Paris and all over Europe. Shot by Jean-Baptiste de Laubier. Edited by JBL and Drieu.Author: INSX999 Tags: onemoresong paraone surkin curses orgasmic tour institubes Posted: 28 May 2008 Rating: 4.0 Votes: 4

REWINDW/ CUT NYC 3-Year Anniversary - Institubes Paris Terror Club
from subdrive - underground electronic culture April 25, 2008
Today we're starting a new feature on Subdrive called REWINDW/. You'll be seeing interviews with DJs, producers, designers, promoters, etc. The first is about Cut NYC's 3-year anniversary from a few weeks ago. Shark and The Captain were cool enough to let us come in and film the party and talk to them about how Cut came to be. As a bonus you'll hear from Para One, Surkin, and Bobmo of Institubes talking about life, music, and...Bob Marley? The interviews were so good I'm posting all three as separate videos over the next week. So here's the first part of the CUT NYC 3-year anniversary, it's a sit down with Shark of CUT discussing the party, the scene, and other things. If you're subscribed on the podcast you should receive all the videos automagically. View photos from the party here.
