http://www.theawesomearchfiend.com/ Charla Nash was attacked and had her; hands, eyes and face RIPPED OFF by her neighbors pet chimpanzee a few months back. Charla is now ready to talk to Oprah and show the world what she looks like. I'm sure this had nothing to do with ratings with November being a sweeps month and all. I heard them talking about this on Howard Stern this morning and had to see what all the talk was about. Yikes. You couldn't give me enough money to make life worth living. More the power to this lady for going on after this horrific event.

Caring for Malawi

Caring for Malawi

from recent posts tagged malawi - blip.tv (beta) on May 26, 2009
Duration: 2332
Four members of the Ubuntu group share about their trip to Malawi and the challenges that the local people face and our opportunities to partner with them. By this time it was late in the day, so his disciples came to him. "This is a remote place," they said, "and it's already very late. Send the people away so that they can go to the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat." But he answered, "You give them something to eat." They said to him, "That would take almost a year's wages! Are we to go and spend that much on bread and give it to them to eat?" "How many loaves do you have?" he asked. "Go and see." When they found out, they said, "Five and two fish." Mark 6:35-38 What we see, and like to see, is cure and change. But what we do not see and do not want to see is care: the participation in the pain, the solidarity in suffering, the sharing in the experience of brokenness. Henri Nouwen, Out of Solitude, p. 35 Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? Isaiah 58:6,7
