StoryCorps is radio at its very best. Everyday people interview their loved ones. Radio producers turn their interviews into segments that, more often that not, make you cry. StoryCorps founder David Isay visited Seattle last month. He says these stories of noble bus drivers, hard-working moms, and loyal grandpas are more important than quite a lot of what makes the news from day to day, like celebrity gossip. Here, Isay talks about starting up StoryCorps, how it's run, why he's so into it and of course, he plays tons of StoryCorps excerpts. One New York City bus driver jumps out at every stop until he finds the correct restaurant an elderly woman needs to go to. He treated her like a star. One simple act and she tells him it was the best day of her life. StoryCorps' first book/CD has just been published. It's called, Listening Is an Act of Love.

I haven't done it in a while because I always felt most people thought they were boring. But NaVloPoMo taught me some things, the most important thing it taught me is just to create, to make video's.
