In 2004 Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman made a round-the-globe trip from London to New York on their motorcycles. The trip was documented and became the miniseries The Long Way Round. Last year, the two went on a second trip that took them through Africa which has been turned into The Long Way Down. The documentary will air in a miniseries format next month, but first Fathom Events is bringing a special director’s cut of the trip to theaters for a one-night event. We got the chance to talk to Ewan McGregor (the Star Wars prequels, Big Fish) and producer David Alexanian about The Long Way Down - the goal behind trips like these, the trials and tribulations they faced, and moments you can’t capture on film.

And instead of a great white whale it's an even bigger treasure: white carded figures that have slipped out before release date. Marjorie and Arnie take you on a tour of stores trying to find employees who blithely disregard street dates in the name of efficiency. And we play voicemails from at least one listener who DID capture his great white toy. Where did he get it, and how did he get out without the dreaded sign of "Sale Not Allowed"? Listen to find out! Also this week, we have a hands-on review of the very high-end collectible Yoshitoku Vader, initially offered up for order at Celebration Japan.
