The managing partner of Norton Rose Asia, David Stannard, tells me on the show today about life after its merger with law firm Deacons Australia. Announced in June, the new Norton Rose Group in the Asia Pacific region will operate from 12 offices in Bangkok, Beijing, Brisbane, Canberra, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Melbourne, Perth, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo. Stannard also reveals the impacts of the financial crisis on his company and how he managed to avoid lay-offs in these troubled times. He claims that many people assume that lawyers don't have social consciences, but this HR practice proved otherwise.
